I am an ignorant stubborn snob. If it is popular, I don't like it. So. I listened to the Beyonce clip up above. I did not watch. After listening, I said to my self, Self, that is pretty good country singing. I turned around and watched it and said Self, that is just vulgar semi porn.

Iris Dement is my favorite living singer. I even bought her Russian poetry album. However, no one will ever replace The First Lady of Song. I will admit Ella's Christmas and Gospel albums were pretty lame.

I have this jazz song stuck in my memory; I can still hear the song, but I can't make out the words. It's a female black singer, pre-early 2000s, who is singing why she and her lover can't be together; she doesn't won't to hurt his four little children that need him. I wish I could find it but with so little to go on I don't think it's likely.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

Ooh ooh! I think I know that one. I can hear it in my head.

It's a woman singing to her wife, who left her for another woman.

It goes like this....
You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille
With four hungry children and a crop in the field
I've had some bad times, lived through some sad times
But this time your hurting won't heal
You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille

I believe a number of artists have recorded Luther Ingram's "If Loving You is Wrong", including at least one woman I am aware of. It has a line, Am i wrong to fall, so deeply in love with you; knowing I have a wife and two little children depending on me too...". Not a contrite cheater giving up his/her partner, but it may be varied by different artists.

ETA: There are also a lot of covers of "Kiss and Say Goodbye" by the Manhattans dealing with a cheating couple breaking up; I don't recall kids in the lyrics (just "I've got ties and so do you"), but some versions might mention it.
