She turned into a bit of a right wing nutter as she grew older.

You're saying that because she was right‑wing. When you assume “she deserved it because she was a right‑winger,” or whatever you're not evaluating her actions or character. You're dismissing an entire human being based on a category. That kind of thinking shuts down empathy, nuance, and any chance of understanding or peace, for that matter.
Any reasonable person would have to admit that she was one beautiful conservative. Dear Jane by comparison should change her name to Fido.
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

I am too, because we all die.
And I have no feeling of empathy because she lived a long and apparently rich life doing whatever she wanted to do, including abandoning her only child and saying utterly despicable things about her feelings for him (a tumor growing in her belly, etc.) in print for all the world to see - when he'd done nothing but exist, against her apparent wishes to get a third abortion to get rid of him altogether. She abandoned him to be raised by his father's parents. Fine, she wasn't cut out to be a mother - she might have kept her ugly mouth shut about it and not spent pages in her autobiography calling him a tumor, etc.
She wasn't a very nice person, which is probably why she revealed herself in later life to be a hateful immigrant hating bigot etc. I'm sure there are plenty of liberal women who are equally vile 'mothers' - Bardot just happens to have been right wing.
I'm sure Jesus will forgive her. Since I don't believe in heaven, I am under no such obligation.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

I'm not sure you've got that quite right . . .
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Yes, absolutely. She was a fascist, a bigot, a racist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, an Islamophobe, and an antisemite, and she lent her celebrity to promoting these hateful ideologies and the National Front. The world is a better place without her.
I didn't say she "deserved" anything; she wasn't murdered, she lived a very long life and died past her statistical life expectancy, so if anything she got more lifetime than she was "due." But as to "evaluating her actions or character," see above.
I am not required to mourn the passing of anyone, let alone a hateful twat like Bardot. As I said, the world is in fact better off etc. And if this is another of your lame attempts at trolling, you can fuck right off.
Whatever Bardot's physical appeal, she was certainly ugly on the inside. And you can fuck all the way off.
GAH!

I’m not trolling. I say what I think, and you assume it’s trolling, perhaps because you have thin skin made worse by an exaggerated ego.Sue U wrote: ↑Tue Dec 30, 2025 4:08 pmYes, absolutely. Just because someone is pragmatic doesn’t make them a hater. After all, have you sold all your worldly possessions, given the proceeds to the poor, and chosen a life of poverty for yourself?
I’m not a wealthy person, but I’m able to do some good. I donate what I can to three charities: Wounded Warrior, St. Jude, and the ASPCA. What do you donate to?

Re: Brigitte Bardot is dead
Just to clarify . . . are you suggesting that Bardot exemplifies pragmatism by being a fascist, bigot, racist, homophobe, xenophobe, Islamophobe and an antisemite,?
Or are you being pragmatic in disregarding her having been a fascist, bigot, racist, homophobe, xenophobe, Islamophobe, antisemite, because she was "beautiful"?
Either of those is pathetic and disgusting. But not as disgusting as your bringing in charitable giving as some kind of excuse

lib told us:
I give to Wounded Warrior (and a similar charity in Britain) because although I disagree with many of the military adventures my taxes pay for (Suez, Vietnam, Grenada, the asinine interventions in DC, LA etc) I never blame the squaddies and the grunts who don't make the policies.I’m not a wealthy person, but I’m able to do some good.
