Most of these lack the subtlety of tunes like "Where Have All the Flowers Gone"; they go for the jugular instead. Case in point - Bruce Springsteen's "Streets of Minneapolis", which does not shirk from naming names:
Likewise, Neil Young is not pulling any punches. "Big Crime" probably sets a record for the number of times it calls out "fascists":
Jesse Welles wrote "Good vs ICE" within a couple of weeks of Renee Good's murder:
The upcoming album by Boston's Dropkick Murphys will have an Antifa focus, including "Citizen ICE":
The Flobots' very cleverly crafted "ICE Out":
Malört & Savior don't need to spell out what we are all wishing for in "On the Day It Finally Happens":

Re: A new generation of protest songs
I didn't recognize Neil Young. But he is 80.
Re: A new generation of protest songs
Springsteen isn't looking exactly chipper, either. But it's good to see both of them taking up the torch.

Not the best video, but the song is a nice contribution from Willie.

Re: A new generation of protest songs
My 20 year old grandson introduced me to Drop Kick Murphy about a year ago and I did not find the music very interesting. That is/was an old geezer response. I am gonna have to buy this album. For my grandson, '4 Dead in Ohio' is boring prehistoric. I need to make the effort to bridge the difference. Thanks Scooter

This one plays in an ACLU advertisement soliciting donations and new members, and the singer/songwriter appears appealing for support with a video montage of the ICE protestors and the No Kings marches since ICE began their rampages last winter in LA.
