The show is called Common Law; it airs Friday nights on USA...(though with Comcast you can ewatch it anytime after it airs)
The promos made it look promising, so we decided to check it out, and weren't disappointed. The basic theme is one we've seen many times, ("buddy cops") but the writing is intelligent, the cast chemistry is excellent, and the pacing of the comedy with the action and mystery is well done.
So far only the pilot has aired, (and it's possible of course they blew all their clever ideas in one episode; we'll see....) but it looks to me like USA has another winner....
It has seemed to me that with a very few exceptions, (like NCIS, House and Bones) that most of the really well written hour long shows that have come along the past few years have been created by The USA Network and TNT....
