This has been done some time ago, starting with Northstar of Marvel Comics;

Created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, he was intended to be gay but this was not openly stated until 1992 after another character confronted Northstar about how famous and influential people could bring greater attention to LGBT issues and the rising AIDS epidemic. As a result, Northstar came out at a press conference and went on to become a speaker for LGBT rights. He later published an autobiography entitled Born Normal, just before officially joining the X-Men.

Green Arrow is usually dating someone[female]; most recently he's been dating Black Canary, and in some story lines, they're married.

I'm not sure Batman, has a current 'Robin' ; if he does, it certainly is not Dick Grayson- the original sidekick. He grew up in the comics and donned his own costumed persona of 'Nightwing'




He's never gone back to being Robin, even when he has assisted Batman at times in crime-fighting. One of his most notable romances was to Starfire, while they were both in the Teen Titans.

The Batgirl and Nightwing dated briefly; the rumors of her being gay were probably because of [she as her new Persona Oracle] starting an all female crime-fighting team; 'The Birds of Prey', but there weren't any inner-office romances.


Batman is not gay because, the playboy Millionaire, has had a bazillion girlfriends, up to and including the stunningly sexy, Catwoman;

In the DC Universe, Bruce Wayne has nearly died in the dimension shaking 'Blackest Night' multiple cross-over series. He is in hiatus recovering and can not even recall that he was once The Batman.
To fill that void, Dick Grayson has taken up the mantle/cowl of the Bat, and become the latest Caped Crusader ...and no, he's not gay.

Ah! After watching 'Young Justice' this morning [yay! Saturday morning cartoons ] ...I went searching for Superhero updates, and to what did my wondering eyes did appear?

This news also explains the Green Lantern's sexuality change;

She'll join the new Earth-2 versions of the Flash (Jay Garrick, seen at the end of #1) and Alan Scott's Green Lantern, who debuts in Earth-2 #3Geeksout

...they can tweek the charaters, because Earth-2 is outside of the 'regular' continuity of the DC Universe. They can always change thier minds and say, 'Oh, that didn't really happen, that was Earth-2... '
I believe the above pic is going to be the cover to Earth-2 #4. So, I'm going to adopt a wait and see approach, before changing my avatar.
