Knight VS Knight

Post by loCAtek »

It's finally happened!
Due to cosmic forces, time warps, worm-holes, or whatever...

The Dark Knight faces the The Jedi Knight of the Dark Side ;

Batman against Darth Vader:

Matches:

*Both are skilled at martial arts

*Both wear a form of [black] body armor, accented tastefully with nifty capes

*Both carry personal sidearms in which they are experts

*Both have really intimidating speaking voices

Special Skills:

Batman has: Superior Fight Strategies; he can judge an opponent's strengths and weaknesses, at a glance, and knows how to use them. Excellent Chess player.

Darth Vader has: The Force; he can telekinetically move large objects with his mind, and if he is allowed to focus without distraction, can use the 'Sith Force Choke'. If he is distracted, he's been known to fall back on the 'Sith Bladder Spasm'.

Shortcomings:

Batman is: Only human, he has his physical limitations as Bruce Wayne, millionaire playboy; sometimes he needs a quick shower, minor surgery, a five-star meal and an expensive, discreet hooker.

Darth Vader is: Too reliant on his power, he lacks patience and finesse, and will charge in like a Bantha in a China shop, while forgetting to charge his exosuit batteries.

Neither can:

* Call for back up- no Super-Friends; no Storm Troopers. This is one-on-one.

* Resort to heavy vehicles- no Batmobile/plane/cycle/boat, etc.; no Tie fighters nor Battle droids.

* Remove cowls/helmets- secret identities must be respected and maintained

* Claim a power/ability they haven't had before- the Fandom Base knows all, sees all and controls all

READY...

Really?

OK, I'll start, since I'm the only one who's voted, and that was for;

THE BATMAN

This: regardless that Darth Vader is stronger, more ruthless and doesn't hesitate to kill. ...I think the Caped Crusader, would finish the fight.

At their meeting, DV being able to sense that 'The Force wasn't strong with this one' , would underestimate the Dark Knight, and as stated, full-frontal charge with his light saber, expecting a quick dispatch.

Batman would counter the assault, with whatever weapon handy; meanwhile studying his opponent's fight strategies.
At close quarters, the Bat would notice Vader's cybernetic life-support systems (the heavy breathing is a dead give away) ...meanwhile the Sith Lord would realize the extent of the Dark Knight's expert fighting abilities, and go for his super-power advantage of The Force.

Darth's usual tactic is to 'push' his adversary away, and then start throwing rocks or whatever's handy and heavy at him.

Batman is familiar with telekinetics and would recognize it's use at the first blow. His fast, ninja reflexes would assure him a good landing, and in fact he would be quick enough to spring and dodge any projectiles; swiftly closing in on Vader again.
This would stop DV from throwing anything big at the Bat (for fear of hitting himself) and instead he would fall back on the 'force choke'.

However, the element of surprise was already lost, The Force having been revealed to the Batman, and a choke hold was not detrimental to the disciplined Dark Knight.
While Vader has to focus his energy tightly, when 'choking' his enemy remotely; he can't do anything else, and he's not usually interrupted, nor counter-attacked at the time. His foe is generally too shocked and frightened to do anything but panic.

Batman never panics.

In fact, he may have drawn Darth Vader into this situation to get close to him and put his guard down. Vader thinks he's won, and tightens his 'grip' (complete with dramatic hand gestures, that mimic the choking) on Batman's throat...
(You've noticed all of Vader's other choke victims could kick and grip at their throats)
...leaving the rest of the Gotham's finest, body free. Assessing that, Batman would fuggetabout the choke hold and reach for his utility belt, and the explosive batarangs it contained. A few of those thrown at Darth Vader's chest of exosuit controls, if it didn't disable him, would distract him to the Batman, released from his 'force choke', rushing him and pushing the buttons manually to shut the Sith Lord down.

Flawless Victory!!!
