Longmire

Post by Long Run »

Anyone read the Longmire books of the modern day Wyoming sheriff? There is a new A&E series that is a disappointment compared to the books (a common enough result), but still not a bad show relative to other shows. The lead character, who is an Aussie actor, does a good job as the imperfect hero, but the supporting characters don't lend depth to the show in the same way that makes the books work so well. Oh well, it is summer and Burn Notice is back for some low-wattage fun.

I haven't read the books, but this is a show I've been meaning to catch primarily because I really liked the female lead Katee Sackhoff as Kira "Starbuck" Thrace in Battlestar Galactica....

I think I'll check and see if Comcast has it in On Demand, and maybe we'll check out an episode tonight.

Okay, this show is getting better; I'll give it a B+. Music is good, though an old geezer friend thinks it too loud. One of the better serious detective shows on air. Plus, near our new DA in fictitious location: get a feel for some mountain/high plains justice.

Oh wow, that's ME you're talking about! (I'm still pinching myself - arms are black&blue.) ;)

Series sounds neat; I'll look for it online/iTunes/Netflix at some point.

I'm checking out episode 4, the oldest available on Hulu; I like it okay so far, but I have to say, only someone who's never seen Wyoming would buy the New Mexico locations as authentic. The mountains in both places are beautiful, but distinctly different.
