Well if you ever do get the chance, they're worth a look; like you, I miss a lot of TV shows because of other commitments as well.

I'll try as I do like it this season and if you say the others were better, that has me interested. I checked on demand and they only have this season. Maybe if it's released on dvd I'll ask for htat for Christmas. I never really want anything for Christmas other than Peace for all.

jim--I finally got around to watching a couple of episodes of Blindspot; it was well written and entertaining, but I really hate the camera work and editing. Between the shaky camera work (I didn't think it's a had held camera but some sort of program introducing the same shakiness (on about a 5 second repeat) into each shot, coupled with fast edits (I find that jumping around and quick cuts really annoying) with the occasional quick zoom from far away into a close up in a couple of seconds. It's pretty distracting--did it bother you at all?

I tried to watch Blindspot twice and could not get into it at all. Not a bad show exactly, just not engaging enough for me.

I kind of feel that way about most TV; IMHO you have to lower your standards a bit or you won't have much to watch.

Big RR: you see that kind of jerky faux hand held look in so many shows now, to be honest I hardly even notice it any more...

@W: Well that's what makes horse races...I really feel that the mix of action to narrative makes it well paced, and the character chemistry is good ( though the male lead is yet another damn Aussie playing an American). What really drew me in more than anything else are plot twists and the way the central mystery of the story arc, (who is is this woman, how and why did she wind up the way she is, and who is behind it ) keeps deepening and becoming more complex...

I don't know if you've watched The Blacklist, but when I first watched Blindspot, I thought it was the kind of show that would appeal to most people who like The Black List. It's got a similar kind of construction, with episodic crimes to solve and bad guys to thwart combined with an overall story arc with a lot of riddles and moving parts...

And also like The Blacklist it's pretty well written with a strong central ensemble cast.

Watched the first three episodes last night...

Yes, no doubt about it; the horror genre at its finest...

Destined to join such cinematic masterpieces as Dracula and Frankenstein in the pantheon of horror classics....

I'm late to the party, but has anyone else watched Penny Dreadful on Showtime/Hulu? I just binged the first two seasons and really enjoyed it - a bit over the top here and there, but generally very well acted and production values are great.

From the promos I thought it was something I'd really like, but I watched the first couple of episodes and it really didn't draw me in...

Maybe I should give it another chance...

One of the best lines of the TV year from Fargo:

Goofball Ed to cool mobster Mike Milligan on the phone: “Maybe you heard of me,the Butcher of Luverne.”

Mike: “I have heard of you, and let me say, Brother, I like your style.”

“You're a little touched, aren't you?...not that there's anything wrong with that..."

Hank Larsson...(Ted Danson...)

I can't say enough about this season's Fargo...

Last season was superb, but this one is probably even better...

Last season had three really great performances...( Martin Freeman as Lester Nygard, Billy Bob Thornton as Lorne Malvo, and Allison Tollman as Molly Solverson)

This season, in addition to the outstanding performance of the two leads, (Patrick Wilson as Lou Solverson, and Kirsten Dunst as Peggy Blumquist...especially Dunst...if she doesn't win the Best Actress Emmy Award, there's something seriously wrong with the voting process) you could pretty much fill up all the Best Actor/Actress In A Supporting Role Emmy Nomination slots with the rest of the supporting cast of this show, and not even consider anybody else...

It's a perfect storm of brilliant writing, brilliant acting, and brilliant directing...

Long Run:

Without getting too specific and creating spoilers for those who haven't seen it, I thought the scenes in last night's episode with Ed (Jesse Plemons) and Peggy and Dodd Gerhardt (Jeffrey Donovan of Burn Notice fame) were absolutely hilarious...

We're going to re-watch it because we were laughing so hard I'm sure we missed some good lines...

One of the funny things about Donovan's performance (for anyone familiar with Burn Notice) is that in playing this part, he obviously drew from the "psycho thug with a small amount of brain damage" roles "Michael Weston" would occasionally play while going "under cover" on Burn Notice...

Re Blindspot:

I was very surprised by the twist at the end of the last episode ( the show returns with another batch of episodes in February...)

I really didn't expect them to go all Total Recall...

Totally agree. Fargo runs circles around the next best thing on TV right now.

Yeah, one thing about Peggy...

She always has her priorities straight... :D

One thing I've been wondering Long Run, (and again I'll try to be vague in order to not create spoilers for anyone who hasn't been watching it but plans to ) is if you know who is really dead...

Obviously the writers wanted to keep the audience guessing about that, since you never heard the shot or saw a body...

I'm wondering if this person might reappear walking out of the woods, ironically being the last member of their clan still alive...

I guess that will get resolved one way or another next week since sadly ,episode 10 will mark the end of the series... :(

I wonder that too, but there is another member of the bear clan that may be a wealthy young inmate.

I had forgotten about that one...

Maybe the two of them will wind up splitting what is undoubtedly a fairly substantial amount of ill gotten gains acquired by their clan, (for which they are not personally responsible) and then go on to become respected, successful members of society...(Afterall, this series is set in 1979; the last scenes in the final episode might show how these two are doing 35 years later... 8-) )

That's the kind of ironic ending one would expect from the producers of this show... 8-)

Season 2 of Ash Vs. Evil Dead, while starting off a little hammy, (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) is really starting to get good. The addition of Lee Majors and Ted Raimi are awesome as well. I wouldn't be suprised if this show gives Majors career a second wind.
