One reviewer called it "a confounding mess of a movie" while another headline slammed it as "a crime against comic book fans".
"Zack Snyder's superhero spectacle is a meatheaded, humourless mess that squanders its cast and makes little sense," wrote the UK Telegraph's Robbie Collin.

Well, yes, that doesn't look like a really great review...

But I doubt my son cares much about that...(he's a big Superman and Batman fan...and Iron Man fan, and Captain America fan, but not much of a review reader)
Going to see blockbuster super hero movies (even some lousy ones, like The Green Hornet) with daddy is a family tradition we started back when Tati was a tiny tike...(Kelly's not a big fan)
And even the now cynical and moody 16 year old Warrior Princess has indicated she wants to come with her brother and me to see this one...

$250M for this epic saga? If I were Glenn Britt or Robert Marcus at Time-Warner I'd be ticking off one of these:

I think it's time that they be re-imagining their careers.

At the risk of sounding like a fanboy —
If Batman were to fight and somehow kill Superman (expose him to a lethal level of kryptonite, let's say), what's the worst that could happen to Batman? Since Superman is not human — he is a Kryptonian and an illegal alien to boot — Batman could not be charged with murder.
And for that matter, would exposure to kryptonite actually *KILL* Superman, or would it merely weaken his powers, which we all know are a result of his Kryptonian physiology being enhanced by exposure to the Earth's yellow sun, so that he would no longer be impervious to bullets, knives, speeding locomotives, atomic explosions, and what-have-you and could thus be "done in" through conventional measures?

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: Batman Versus Superman...
Brokeback Mountain was a great movie, excellent acting and great story. FYI I know from personal experience that cowboys can pack six-guns and be all manly and still be gay, though admittedly in mostly-redneck Montana where a lot of the remaining working cowboys live, it's still hard to be out about it.

Re: Batman Versus Superman...
When I used to read the comics and take such things seriously (decades ago), I think there were different color kryptonites that would have different effects--green would kill him, gold would take away his powers, red would have a variety of different effects for each piece found (allowing the writer the latitude of writing different stories), and blue that wouldn't do anything to him but would kill Bizarro Superman, although why I recall any of this is beyond me.And for that matter, would exposure to kryptonite actually *KILL* Superman, or would it merely weaken his powers, which we all know are a result of his Kryptonian physiology being enhanced by exposure to the Earth's yellow sun, so that he would not longer be impervious to bullets, knives, speeding locomotives, atomic explosions, and what-have-you and could thus be "done in" through conventional measures?
In the movies and TV shows it appears there was only one kind of kryptonite, the kind that would kill him (although in the second Christopher Reeve one there was a device that took his powers away that gave off that luminous glow of kryptonite.
ETA: One other thing I forgot was white kryptonite, which did not harm superman, but gave off a gas that killed plants. If I think of any other kryptonites, I will add them. It's amazing the useless trivia we cram out brains full of.
I thought just the opposite--more like a soap opera story, with the only difference being that the lovers were a gay couple.Brokeback Mountain was a great movie, excellent acting and great story.

I'm betting it's Trump supporters and their families who were the majority seat warmers.

Re: Batman Versus Superman...
Good or bad, this type of movie always does well at the box office. I think it's mostly teens (especially young boys) and people who wish they were young boys, but even if the critics hate them they generate a lot of tickets.
Re: Batman Versus Superman...
Hey! That stuff was important back when.although why I recall any of this is beyond me.
Bet you forget your wife wanted you to grab a loaf of bread on the way home though.
Re: Batman Versus Superman...
Okay Ray, you do realize that now I'm going to have to kill you, right?I'm betting it's Trump supporters and their families who were the majority seat warmers.
But seriously folks...
Since we went to a 10:30 AM Sunday (Easter Sunday) showing the audience demographics were probably atypical, but while there were some groups of teenagers there, there were also a fair number of other adults with younger children as well.
It certainly was no Citizen Kane, (or even Avengers movie) but I think most of the reviews I read are a little harsh...
IMO they tried to cram too many themes into it, (no doubt to plant the seeds for all the sequels to follow) it had a lot less humor and camp then the Marvel movies, (Of course this has been an ongoing contrast between the DC and Marvel franchises going back decades; Stan Lee originally deliberately created his characters to create this contrast) and I'm not completely sold on the re-imagined Lex Luthor character...(It seemed to me that he was based on Jim Carrey's Ed Nigma character in Batman Forever )
All of that having been said the special effects were excellent, and as super hero movies go, I've certainly seen worse...(The Green Hornet, The Green Lantern and Superman Returns all come immediately to mind)

That was certainly my impression...I thought just the opposite--more like a soap opera story, with the only difference being that the lovers were a gay couple.
I had no more desire to see that one then I did to see The Bridges Of Madison County....
Going to see a soap operaish "relationship" movie ain't my cuppa joe...
I know of cheaper cures for insomnia...(two minutes of Leonard Coma's Suzanne comes to mind...)

The killing joke is supposed to hit theaters this summer. Looking forward to that one.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
