That song is about what?
Re: That song is about what?
Ok then, here is one back at you.
It is a piece of music written for Christmas and is heard in one of those tv shows that they air every year at this time.
BUT it has never had any lyrics written for it.
And no, it isn’t a classical piece like the Nutcracker.

A sufficiently copious dose of bombast drenched in verbose writing is lethal to the truth.

Midnight in Sarajevo...
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is
Re: That song is about what?
"You suffer." Napalm Death?
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: That song is about what?
Thanks to my warped sense of humour, keld is closer. Although, nothing says another Christmas special better than Napalm Death.
Gob, Did I mention that no lyrics have ever been written for it?
Ok, Give away hint here. It’s from one of those animated tv specials that get played every year and for several times and has been a staple since the time when the people who did them were still alive.
Incidentally, one of the surviving geezers was interviewed on the radio and he said that when they finished it, they took it to CBS (major US network) and they were turned down because it was “too dark, too slow and the music was no good."

Re: That song is about what?
I thought that was trade mark Charles Schultz and as such was played during everyone of his specials.
Good call though...

Re: That song is about what?
What?
The music is called “Linus and Lucy”, and was written for the Charlie Brown Christmas special.
Did I mislead you in some way?
(Lord knows, I'm full of screw-ups)

Wellll you post a vid.
Guess I'm too stupid.
Or you're too cryptic.
Either way you obviously have the answer and I don't.
I defer...

Cryptic is my other middle name. My parents couldn’t shorten “What do you mean you are pregnant?” into something the reverend would accept.
But the vid provides the answer to my original question some posts back.

Re: That song is about what?
I thought of the 'Charlie Brown Christmas' but thought is was the 'Hark the Herald Angel' ending; which would have made it lyric-able, and confused me.
Re: That song is about what?
From Wiki:
However you can see how I got my impression...
OK I concede it was introduced on the Christmas special."Linus and Lucy" is a popular jazz piano tune written by Vince Guaraldi appearing in many of the Peanuts animated television specials. Named for the fictional siblings Linus and Lucy van Pelt, it was released in 1964 on the Vince Guaraldi Trio's album Jazz Impressions of a Boy Named Charlie Brown. A Charlie Brown Christmas introduced the song to a television audience of millions of children beginning in 1965.[1] Since that special, the song has introduced most of the Peanuts TV specials, with the exceptions of the specials and other TV programs produced between 1979 and 1992.
The song was played to the crew of Space Shuttle Endeavour as wake-up music on Day 2 of the STS-123 mission on March 11, 2008. It was also used as background music for The Weather Channel's local forecasts starting in 1999,[2] and on advertisements for banking firm ANZ.
The song is in the key of A-flat major.

Re: That song is about what?
The songs might be better if it were possible to understand what the singers are actually saying. The siamangs at the zoo are more comprehensible.
Reason is valuable only when it performs against the wordless physical background of the universe.

I still wonder how a song about someone returning from PRISON became a song about waiting for soldiers to return home!Sean wrote:Was it 'Tie a yellow ribbon'?

I know, funny that...Jarlaxle wrote:I still wonder how a song about someone returning from PRISON became a song about waiting for soldiers to return home!Sean wrote:Was it 'Tie a yellow ribbon'?
Mind you, the idea of the yellow ribbon goes back waaay further to when a wife would wear one to show her husband that she had been faithful while he was away, whether at war, in prison or even a particularly lengthy jolly boys' outing.

The song is indeed about an ex-con though...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
Re: That song is about what?
a couple of easy ones:
1) A guy becomes infatuated with a girl whose number he finds written on a bathroom wall:
2) (this one is a little different) Singer confuses a feminine hygiene product for a hot rod.

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: That song is about what?
1) I know the girl's number... 867-5309
2) Little Douche Coupe...

Re: That song is about what?
Not quite on both. Actually the second is outright wrong.

but it is on the right track.
