One thing I'll say...

The organizers say they're supporting "enviro" groups like Greenpeace, but between the electricity, transportation, trash disposal, etc., this shindig is going to create The Mother Of All Carbon Footprints...

Still need the main power plant to sync up to. Yes, it's good to generate as much power as clean as possible and to suppliment the grid any way possible. I do still want data on how much power it took to manufacture the panels versus how much they generate and if there is a positive gain on them. Last I read it was still a negative when you take into account ALL the costs (manuf/shipping/installing/etc). While the average person putting them on the roof does not see/pay much of that as there are usually subsidies tied to intslling green electricity generators. I still wonder as solar panel manuf is not cheap.

We are here. We arrived yesterday, caravans and mororhomes are allowed on site earlier. The gates to the main festival opened this morning, and we spent the first part of the day watching the campers arrive with trollies and barrows full of beer.

We're down in spirit of '71 field now chilling with a nice real ale!

Laters xx

Spent the day on the bars, got a bit sunburned don't think I will be needing my festival wellies. Got nice neighbours on the caravan site, a family of six that all play guitar and ukulele keeping us entertained.

Our itinerary for the actual festival includes Jake Bugg and Sir Bruce Forsythe!

I'd like to know how Jake Bugg's live show turns out. Does he do a lot on his own or does his band accompany him most of the time? How does his voice sound live?

Just curious.

Have a rockin' time.... :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

Swung by Seasick Steve, playing his hubcap banjo. He was really good.

Jake Bugg did sound great, but he looked terrified in front of 60K people.

The Arctic Monkeys closed the show and they were actually brilliant. Having seen them a few years ago and being utterly disappointed by them it was lovely to have my faith restored with a massive singalong of Mardy Bum in the encore.
