...Sir Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard Star Trek: The Next Generation), Avery Brooks (Captain Benjamin Sisko Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway, Star Trek: Voyager), Scott Bakula (Captain Jonathan Archer, Star Trek: Enterprise), and Chris Pine (Captain James T. Kirk, Star Trek 2009).
[ :geek: ] Well, then. If Shatner counts that Captain Kirk among the Captains, he should also count that Captain Pike (who actually did command the Enterprise in the movie...well, for a little while anyway).[/ :geek: ]

Just sayin' :fu

There were a lot of folks who took command briefly in the various series' (Spock, Commodore Decker, T'Pol, etc.) but only a limited number actually held formal command.

I thought in one of the movies she had her own ship. Of course I suffer from CRS, so who knows. :shrug

Data had command of his own ship in one episode.

Wasn't that the one where the 1st officer was contemplating mutiny until Data saved the day with his "unorthidox" solution?

Yeah, they were squaring off against the Romulans, (who were being led by Tasha Yar's evil half Romulan daughter)

In the last episode of TNG Crusher was shown as captain of a medical ship in a future timeline, but it is not clear if that timeline actually holds after a spatial anomaly was corrected.

Oldr, I don't recall Crusher getting a command in one of the movies, (though I could be wrong) but she did take temporary command of the Enterprise in one episode, (I just happened to see it again on BBC America over the weekend) where Lore had messed with Data's programming and Picard had sent most of the crew, (Including himself) down to a planet to deal with them and a bunch of renegade Borg.

But he didn't formally relinquish command to her like he did to the A-hole Captain Jellico..... He left her with orders she was expected to follow, which wouldn't happen if the person had genuine true command.

In the final episode, in a flash-forward courtesy of Q, Beverly Crusher Picard commanded the medical ship Pasteur. The timeline does NOT hold...the Enterprise-D was in that episode, which is not possible.

Dr. Crusher was command-qualified from the start of the series (as a full commander, she actually outranks everyone aboard except Captain Picard and, possibly, Commander Riker).

That would be Sela, who was one of the better villains. She does appear again, and is, if anything, even more vicious.

Data commanded the USS Sutherland.

Wasn't Han Solo the captain at some point?
