I agree about the creepiness factor of that program...It's a very well written and performed show, but I really can't take more than one episode of it at a time...

The "best" (if that's the right word to use when describing a Criminal Minds episode) one I've seen was a two part episode where Tim Curry plays one of the Creepiest Creepos in the whole history of creepiness...

I love love love Criminal Minds and am rarely creeped out by it however there was a 2 part episode in season 9 where the killer was played by Fred Koehler and he was seriously squirm making - superb bit of acting and a seriously creepy serial killer - one of the best ones ever even though I'm not sure I could watch those 2 episodes again. The two episodes are: Season 9, Episode 1 The Inspiration and Season 9, Episode 2 The Inspired. Not going to tell you the plot as it would spoil it if you haven't seen those episodes yet - and don't be tempted to read any spoilers for the same reason.

Downloaders may find those episodes (in fact full episodes of pretty much every show mentioned in this thread) on various torrent sites .... not that I'd know where to get them or be able to tell anyone interested if pm'ed :ok)

RB the scene in the restaurant where he serves that one item actually caused me to heave, and I am a nurse used to lots of nasty. It was a great episode for twists, but I could have done without that. I prefer the episodes where there is less gore and Thomas Gibson has shown that it can be done with the 2 he has directed. One dead body and a bit of blood is sufficient. :barf

Yep that was seriously squirm making - I wasn't sure if I could actually manage to hold off on the fast forward button - I agree less gore is my preference too, but for this particular 2-parter I think they went for an all out creepfest - thankfully they tend not to do that too often.

If I remember that episode, I think it was included to emphasize how depraved the guy was. I didn't think it was all that gorey, but then I've watched a lot of the splatter horror films over the years so maybe I'm immune.

But I'll agree with the description of "creepy", and that's what I think distinguishes this show from many others. It rarely breaks the mood by throwing in some comic relief, and has shown some pretty horrendous villains.

Jim--I recall that one with Tim Curry, and the little girl who he kidnapped made it even more creepy; that young actress played that role perfectly, showing someone who is in shock, but a survivor as well.

Uh, he carried a decomposing head around in a bag which he kept in a refrigerator and then fed bits of it to unsuspecting people as well as to other victims. We got to see the head of hair in the bag. That is "all that gorey" in my opinion. But then CM is as bad as I am willing to subject my self to with respect to gore and splatter so perhaps I view it from the perspective of a relative wide -eyed innocent.

Nah, that was the bag covering the heads sticking out of the ground, waiting to be fed; "It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Wilson's (I can't recall the name for sure) fritters.

@W--as I said, I may be inured to the gore from the years of watching splatter films; but I will admit that the head in the bag is going pretty far for broadcast network TV.

Another seaon 9 episode I found pretty disturbing although it was not terribly gory per se was the German guy doing lobotomies.

Clearly I am a wuss.

Have you seen NBC's Hannibal, Big RR?

I was stunned that I was watching broadcast TV, it's so deliciously gruesome.

I'm wussier, I won't even watch that show. Those psychological thrillers give me nightmares.

I've just finished "Cabin Pressure" and am now on to "Fags. Mags & Bags". Bloody funny innit! :D
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
