I guess the old saying is not always true...

Those rolling stones have gathered considerable moss....

I'm just happy to see Mick Taylor looking so well. He was due to tour Australia earlier this year but cancelled due to poor health. Luckily for him he wasn't too ill to tour the US with the Stones at the same time he was supposed to be here...

Yes I had a ticket and yes, he is a lying bastard!
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

I have to say that Glastonbury was one of the best weekends of my life.

The Rolling Stones were awesome, the atmosphere of the crowd was electric all day. They had extended the capacity of the pyramid stage arena by preventing camping at the top of the hill and it still wasn't enough, they had to stop people going in just before the Stones set began for safety, we got to stand about two thirds of the way back so not too bad considering. The band looked like they were thoroughly enjoying themselves - Keith, bless him looked like a knackered old tortoise that's misplaced it's shell.

Sorry Gob we gave John Otway The Movie a miss and went to watch a giant mechanical spider shoot flames out of it's arse at Arcadia instead. :D

Saturday was only spoiled by a petulant performance by Primal Scream, Bobbie Gillespie didn't think he should be playing second fiddle to the Stones and spent most of the set pretty much insulting the crowd for not being enthusiastic enough ... tosser!

We couldn't get in to see Sir Bruce Forsyth in the Fields of Avalon tent, which was a disappointment as we'd really looked forward to that one, it was packed to capacity over two hours before he was due on stage.

Sunday afternoon was spent chilling in the Cockmills Real Ale Bar up by the acoustic tent listening to the London Community Gospel Choir and then Gretchen Peters in the background.

Sunday evening was all about Mumford and Sons, the atmosphere was totally different to the Stones. Candle flares were lit all over the field and groups of happy, tired fans danced to the last of the performances before heading off to camp.

One thing that seems to never get mentioned about the festival is all the fringe stuff that goes on. We spent quite a few hours around the Theatre and Circus areas watching sideshows and "street" performers doing some very weird stuff.

Shangri La was mental, with people sent to heaven or hell bars dependent on how you did in a test. Block 9 was an outstanding piece of construction.

Also nothing on earth can prepare you for the horror of "The Glastonbury Type 111 Long Drop Toilet"! Essentially an underground tank with metal cubicles and a bench seat over the tank. The cries of "Oh my god!! I accidentally touched down!", and the heaving brought on by the stench of Cider Bus wee wee may live with me forever. Cookie's introduction to the Long Drop was that someone had left a number two on the back of the bench seat. Thankfully they also had some composting toilets and portaloos on site that were just about acceptable, if you held your breath and didn't look.

All in all a fabulous time, I think I may well go again next year.

Probably. He seems to be a regular fixture there.

Of course if there's nothing else on we might go and see him. I mean there's always paper crane folding in the healing field that might distract me ;)
