OMG I know that one, beautiful double entendre lyrics by Seal

Kissed by a Rose

...the lyrics he didn't publish with the CD (which I bought when it first came out)
so like that 'two faces or a vase' optical illusion, you heard two different phrases, depending.

Either: 'Kissed by a Rose on the Face'

Or: 'Missed by a Rose on the Grave'

That's what I heard, anywayZ :shrug

Momma took me aside
And she tried to change my mind
She said, don’t waste your time in looking
There’s nothing, nothing left to find
Nothing, nothing left to find

So I left him down in pensacola
In a trailer in the sand
The man from the picture
Creased and yellowed in my hand

Sorry Lo, that is incorrect.

The correct answer is 'Kiss from a Rose'.

And the lyric is, "I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey".

Only kidding, your turn... :nana
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Not at all, I had never heard of Joan Osborne. I vaguely wondered if she was Ozzy Osborne's daughter or something. Liz knew that one.

*Bump!*
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

You'd best post a lyric then Tim...

Oh what the heck, shall we try some country?

Women like you they're a dime a dozen
you can buy 'em anywhere
For you to get to him I'd have to move over
and I'm gonna stand right here
It'll be over my dead body
so get out while you can

Loretta Lynn, "You aint Woman enough." (To take my man)

Honestly Scoot, that's so gay! ;)

Sticking with the country theme, for a change;

There are times when a boy becomes a man.
And things you couldn't tell him you suddenly can.
And when Billy grew up,
I thought it was the time.
That I called him,
and laid things on the line.

And I said Billy you're almost turned sixteen.
And I thought I ought to tell you about your mama and me.
I have to let you know,
we married thirteen years ago.
That means technically speakin'...
You're a bastard....

Now there's a blast from the past...

It was The Heebeegeebees (although they performed it under another name I can't recall...) I think it was called 'You're still my son'.

Anyroad, getting away from the country theme but sticking with the Billy theme...

Her mind's made up, she walks down the road
Her hands in her pockets, coat buttoned against the cold
She finally finds Billy down at the Italian cafe
And when he's drunk it's hard to understand what Billy says

Boomtown Rats ... Rat Trap
(this was all my era :D )

And following the (sort of) theme...

William's hands were shaking
As he took his glass of wine
And I could see we both felt the same
When his eyes met mine ...

Is that enough of the lyrics??

Yes. It's My Girl Bill by Jim Stafford...heard it on the radio recently.
I'm sittin' in a native hut, all alone and blue
I'm sittin' in a native hut, wondrein' what to do
Along came a native girl, did a native dance
It was like in paradise, put me in a trance...

Okay-okay! :D

I was looking for a good'un;
Here is a song, a serenade to you
The world cannot be wrong
If in this world, there is you

I care not what the world may say
Without your love, there is no day
