Submitting different samples (three from this site and two from other writings), I got two HP Lovecraft, a Douglas Adams, a James Joyce and a Mario Puzo. But I have always believed that I actually learned how to write from Edgar Allan Poe.
I'd like to know what the criteria are for matching a sample text with an author.
ETA:
Hahaha, I just put in some excerpts from a couple of Poe short stories, and was told he writes like Jonathan Swift, James Joyce and Charles Dickens! (Okay, another one actually did come back as Poe, but still, WTF?)

Well, that's great Daisy, but apparently George Orwell doesn't write like George Orwell...
I plugged in three different passages from three different Orwell essays; it seems Orwell writes like H. P. Lovecraft...

Which shows how sophisticated the analyzer program is. It immediately knew that Orwell was Orwell and so it compared him to a different writer.
Any moron would know that.
btw - It says I write like Paul Krugman

I tried 3 of my writings and got 2 results of Lovecraft and 1 of Poe (or maybe it's Poe writing as Lovecraft).

I tried it two more times and got H.P. Lovecraft and Arthur Conan Doyle. (Except for the Dan Brown one, I'm not embarrassed by any of the results...but I suspect that the "analysis" consists of randomly spitting out the names of authors that everyone is likely to have heard of.)

Hahahahahahaha .... I just put in a page of text -- in French -- from Alexandre Dumas's Les Trois Mousquetaires, and the site says he writes like James Joyce! Hilarious in so many ways!
ETA:
Even better, Le Petit Prince seems to have been written by Vladimir Nabokov! Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Someone's got a sense of humor, at least.

This is fun...
I just tried some passages from
Mein Kampf in English and German....
Apparently in English translation, Hitler writes like Edgar Allen Poe....
However in the original German, he writes like Kurt Vonnegut...

Now this is a really weird one...
I put in some paragraphs from Ted Kaczynski's Unabomber "Manifesto", (naturally expecting the result, "Al Gore"...) and got Arthur Clarke....
