He plays at MSG once a month for as long as it's popular.

Gee, if they want to revive the character Ernst Stavro Blofeld for a new Bond movie, I know just the guy for the part...

Well, I guess it's nice that he can still get some reasonably steady work at his age. Wal-Mart greeter might be another option.

He's 65 on May 9...and he can still perform.

I WILL be at Fenway for that! Irony: he's a rabid Yankee fan. (He was actually at the Bucky Dent game.)
Too bad the end of the 2010 Face 2 Face tour (Billy and Elton John at Fenway) was cancelled.

But that's a 2+ hour drive to a city I don't know. I'm an hour from Boston and know the city well.

Jarl, if you've ever wanted to visit Manhattan, I suggest you go now...
Political digression:
de Blasio has only been in office for about a month, so he hasn't had a chance to totally destroy the place yet...
I'm not sure that one man can completely undo 20 years of sound governance and return NYC to the crime ridden, basket case toilet it was back in the 80s in just four years, but given his agenda, he certainly seems keen to try...
If anyone has thought about visiting New York but hasn't done so, I suggest they make that trip soon...
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Billy Joel thread, all ready in progress...

I have absolutely no desire to ever visit Manhattan!

I'm taking Pud to his very first concert in March. He's asserting his identity as an Aussie right now so we're going to see Jimmy Barnes et al at 'A Day on the Green'.*
Three days after that I'll be going to see The Stones for the seventh time.
*Attending a Barnesy concert is also the last requirement I need to meet in order to gain Australian citizenship.

Take the new london ferry to orient point and drive to Port Jeff (or take the Bridgeport ferry directly to Port Jeff). Jump on the train in Port Jeff and go straight into Penn Station. Walk upstairs to MSG. You don't even have to go outside. It would be a couple of hours to then fro. But you don't have to deal with directions and city traffic and crossing bridges and paying tolls, etc.
In the summer take your bike on the ferry and I'll meet you at orient point and we'll ride to port jeff. Do a little site seeing in port jeff (big biker town in the summer) then we'll take the train in to MSG. I've never seen Billy Joel live.
well I've met him at a charity bike rally but never seen him perform

So...now it's FOUR hours, then, plus parking, train and ferry fare? (I'm close to 90 minutes from New London.) Just...no!
Fenway is easy to get to.

So, Sue...at what age do
you intend to enter an assisted living facility? 60? 65? 70? (Pete Seeger was 94 and still getting along okay living in his own house.

)
Oh, okay, sure, never mind...I get your meaning: unlike folk, blues, jazz, or classical performers, rock musicians are
supposed to die in their 20s (like Brian Jones), right?

It's not the age, dear, it's the mileage.

Since he hasn't yet, I don't think Keith Richards will ever die.

Maybe the last time. I don't know.
