Who you gonna call?

Post by Gob »

Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) will write and direct an all-female Ghostbusters film alongside screenwriter Kate Dippold (The Heat, Parks and Recreation).

The 52-year-old filmmaker - who also created Freaks & Geeks - officially announced his involvement on Twitter Wednesday. The four-time Emmy nominee wrote: 'It's official. I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call.'

The supernatural comedy three-quel has been in development for decades, and on March 18 director Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II) exited the project following the death of Harold Ramis (Egon Spengler). Original Ghostbuster Bill Murray offered his approval and his casting suggestions last month in Toronto. 'I'm fine with [and all-female version]. I would go to that movie, and they'd probably have better outfits, too,' the 64-year-old Oscar nominee told the Toronto Star.

'Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she’s funny. I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.' Murray teased his own involvement as far back as 2010, when he accepted a Spike TV Scream Award dressed as his character Dr. Peter Venkman. 'I'm sorry; I don't mean anything by this, it's just all that was left that was clean,' the Zombieland funnyman joked onstage.

“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
