OMG, I want a light saber bow NOW.
The kiddies were good, cute, their piece just underscores the genius of John Williams.
Light. Saber. Bow. Now.

Disney is insisting that Hans Solo isn't killed by his son with a light sabre in this latest installment. Is there any truth to this?

My lips are sealed. FYI: I have the SWVII DVD on order so I'll be one of the first to view it at home. The suspense is killing me.

I'll probably watch it when it comes on free tv. But maybe not.
Doubt I will go to the theater to see it.
There was a time when I was a big Star wars fan. Way back when "The Empire Strikes Back" was released. I think I saw that 10+ times while it was in the theaters.
"Return of the Jedi" was too "campy" for me.
And episodes I, II and III were not worth the money I paid for the theater tickets.

We're going to a 3-D version showing tomorrow at a morning matinee...(It will probably be a lot less crowded)

I didn't know there was a 3-D version. Do you have to wear those glasses?
Watch out for those light sabers.

I want to see it in the theater because I just watched Interstellar when it became free on Prime and I realize it really should have been seen on the big screen. Some movies really deserve that.

Oldr, if you mean these kind of glasses:
No, those went out in the 50s...
They just look like dark glasses now...
The quality for 3-D has gotten much better in recent years...
The first movie I went to see in 3-D was The Green Hornet a few years ago...(disappointing movie, but the hornet really looked like it flew out over the audience)
Movies with a lot of special effects are great in 3-D now...
LJ. IS THAT ALSO IMAX?

If so, that's going to be an awesome viewing experience.

Yep, and Disney has a lot of experience with 3D. I have lazy eye, which usually precludes seeing 3d using any optical illusion like the red/green or polarized glasses, but I was able to see it in their short films in Disney World. If that technology is incorporated here, it might well be worth seeing; Jim, let us know what you thought of the 3D.

Absolutely FANTASTIC....
We didn't make the matinee I wanted to go to, (because surprise, surprise, Her Ladyship Jr. couldn't get her lazy teenager butt in gear on a Saturday morning in time to go to a 10:30 AM showing.... )
So we caught a 3-D afternoon showing...
I wont give any spoilers, but if you liked the original Star Wars, you'll love this one...
It is a real homage...
And with the special effects, if you have a chance to see it in 3-D, see it in 3-D...

Not that I've gone to very many movies at all lately, but...
Up to now I've been avoiding the 3-D versions of movies (which of course are always also showing in 2-D), regarding them as just a gimmick to get you to spend more money. I just may give in and try it on this one. One of my daughters and her husband are planning to take me to see The Force Awakens on the day after Christmas.
Tell me, Jim (or anyone else): just how does it work with the 3-D glasses if you already have to wear your own prescription glasses in order to, y'know, see the screen...???

You just slip them on over the top of your own glasses Econoline after a couple of mins you don't really notice them.

The correct spelling of "Wookiee" is with two 'E's. -"BB"-
