A man was arrested in Queens, NY during a Mets game at Citi Field this weekend after playing music so loud the arena’s bullpen called the police to file a noise complaint.
If you’re wondering why something as raucous as a Mets game had to file a noise complaint, that’s because Nelson Hidalgo, 47, is not an ordinary man and neither is his soundsystem.
Hidalgo’s van features 80 speakers ($20,000 worth of equipment, he explained) which he put to full use at 10:45 pm on the intersection of 127th Street and 35th Avenue. Despite drawing a huge crowd, it didn’t stop police from approach on Hidalgo, Coors Light in hand, and arresting him.
Despite reportedly explaining, “I know it’s illegal, but it’s the weekend,” he was charged with second-degree criminal nuisance, general noise prohibition, disorderly conduct, and obstructing the driver’s view.
Hidalgo has no prior record and explained, “I usually get a ticket or it gets thrown out, or I pay a little fee.” He was later released without bail on the promise he return to court August 1.
The Mets, meanwhile, lost in their hometown to the Atlanta Braves. [via Vice]

Old news
But on the subject of loud car stereo systems, I would like to take an ice pick to some of these people and their speakers.
Especially when I am on my mc. There are no windows to roll up or radio to turn louder.
Then they play rap music making it even worse.

This should be his last warning...next time he does it, the van should be seized and destroyed, and him charged for the disposal.
I would not consider a $10,000 fine inappropriate this time.,

Stupid IS painful, to those who are and to those who endure it.
Try cultivating some compassion and inner peace before your head (and/or heart) explodes.

I haven't had a good night's sleep this week because of a jackass on a noisebox chopper. Fuck compassion, I'm ready to punish disturbing the peace after 10pm with vivisection.
