It didn't seem like it had been quite a year since season 4 was released, so I checked and it turned out (as usual) that I was right...

Last season was released in November...

Of course the burning question for this season is:

Will Walt finally get the pole out of his ass and close the deal with Vic? 8-)

The finale Season Six is now available on Netflix...

We finished watching it last night...

I don't want to post spoilers for any Longmire fans who haven't watched it yet, so I'll just say that it's a very well done final season, and it doesn't cheat the audience with unresolved story arcs...

I saw that the other day, watched the recap/preview trailer and realized I’ve forgotten most of season 5 thanks to Swiss cheese brain - so I need to find time to binge both seasons, it seems.

Jacob Nighthorse was the only character who really held my interest. Everyone else got on my nerves after a bit. The writers obviously loved him.

ETA:
Oh, and Marilyn the Crow medicine woman/mystic was hilarious; she should have had a bigger role.

You didn't even like Lucian Connally?

I thought he was pretty two-dimensional, even for comic relief, and I really hated his last scene.

That was a good end to the series, the last scene especially. I tend to agree with Sue, though, that there were only a few inspired characters. Walt and Vic were solid, but two big misses were Lou Diamond-Phillips as Standing Bear and Walt's daughter Cady. Those are the four main characters and two were a drag that the other two could not carry. Secondary roles for Nighthorse, Marilyn, and Lucian were interesting, but most like The Ferg, Ruby,Mathias, Omar, Branch, et al. were just okay. And the villains were not very much fun or deep, from Gerald McRaney's Barlow Connally, to David Ridges, to the Malachi character, they just were not believable or very interesting. Also, it was hard to overlook some of the weak plot points especially in the legal and medical related scenes. Trying not to compare it to the books (since the series really pales in comparison), and it still is hard to rate the series above about a B+: worth watching but there is plenty of stronger work out there.

I just read your post and even though I watched the final season of Longmire within the last couple months, I can’t remember the final scene.

Swiss cheese brain syndrome.
