The 1979 movie version with Malcolm McDowell, the always deliciously evil David Warner, and Mary Steenburgen is one of my favorite sci-fi flicks...I re-watch it at least every couple of years...

I'm a big fan of time travel themes and when you combine that with a taut, well crafted suspense thriller, I'll usually be hooked...(I'm also a big fan of the movie Frequency...haven't checked out the TV series version yet...)

Time After Time:

Saw that advert during Oscars, VERY excited! That was also one of MY favorite films, I've seen it 2-3 dozen times at least. Want to watch it again before the show starts, looking forward to the show - the Jack the Ripper actor was in Revenge, a total brain candy nighttime soap that I still loved and he was pretty good in it.

We're obviously killing more efficiently. But we're still killing.

Just watched the first two episodes on Hulu. I really wanted to like it, but it was simply underwhelming. Not horrible, but considering the size of my video & library queue, I won't be spending any more time on this one.

Exactly my assessment.

"... Let's hide behind the chainsaws..." Badly scripted decision making and far too formulaic. "TAT" jumped the shark as soon as John's hostages quietly tiptoed over him at the doorway after being knocked out with a candy bowl. And then they waited at the elevator rather than immediately taking the stairs.

I may watch again as long as nothing interesting is on PBS.

PS. However, "Victoria" got better along the way but it was much like a romantic soap opera. I'm now looking forward to season #2 if only for Jenna Coleman, she's quite sultry and alluring.

That scene made me so frustrated I actually spoke out loud to my tablet! If she's feisty and clever enough to knock him out, she's not capable of tying him up?! Or hitting him again for good measure?! I know, it doesn't serve the plot - but that's lazy writing.

There's so much good TV these days, I am easily put off. Haven't finished Victoria yet, but was enjoying it - I'm as far as her wedding. Have you watched The Crown, too? Excellent!

I'll stick with re-watching my original VHS tape when I need an HG and Jack fix. Still one of my all time fav flicks.

I stomached a whole episode of Time After Time before calling it a dud; the other show in that article, Doubt, made me wince 5 minutes in, I shut it off after 10 minutes more.

Poor Katherine Heigl can't find a good vehicle for her talents since she was on Grey's Anatomy.

After being very amped for Time After Time, (both from my love of the original flick and the trailer for the show) based on the feedback here and other reviews I've read, I haven't watched one minute of it...

One new show I would recommend is Chicago Justice...

Starring Philip Winchester ( Sgt. Michael Stonebridge from Strike Back) and Joelle Carter (Ava Crowder in Justified) among many other very talented actors and actresses...

We haven't watched any of the other Dick Wolf "Chicago" series, but this is definitely a good one...

Yes, I agree. So far it hasn't jumped the shark by trying to work in too much backstory. It's a great replacement for the "Law & Order" franchise.

I'd also recommend "Chicago PD." It's great as a "standalone" series and Wolf's group of writers should keep it as such. Unfortunately, they too often crossover story-lines and characters with "Chi-Fire" and "Chi-Med" and the "Chi-PD" characters lose much of their edginess.

"Madam Secretary," "This Is Us," and "Chicago Justice" have been three of only a handful of network standouts this season. I don't know how so much of the shit that's broadcast gets renewed season after season. Least common denominator, I guess. Fortunately, I'm mostly hooked on PBS shows and even their lesser show are better than almost anything the Big 4 offer the viewer.

I don't know if Trump watches Chicago Justice (It appears that he spends all of his time watching cable news shows and late night comedians to revel in stories and comments about himself, so he probably doesn't have any time to watch a regular drama series)

But if he does, he's going to be really unhappy about this week's episode...

However, and to give credit where do, I don't feel Lord Dampnut, even as the ultimate sociopath, is so dark and sinister as to intentionally wreak havoc and destruction upon his "brand." All the rest of the characterization in this episode held fairly close.
