These two indies from writer/director Jeff Nichols are really terrific, super high rated by critics and audiences alike. Well worth the time to watch if you haven't seen them already. Both star the amazing Michael Shannon.

I just realized he's the writer/director of another great indie I saw a few years back - quite the emerging talent! This one is also worth a look:

Mud




The writing is great in all three, and this director really gets a great performance from his cast.

I saw Take Shelter and agree it's worth a watch (and you get to see Jessica Chastain in an early role, a bonus).
