About a hundred Cathys nailed the moves at Canberra's very first 'Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever' at Glebe Park on Saturday.

It was a sea of red with flashes of green eye makeup and plenty of floral hairpieces as dancers gathered to perform a series of graceful moves to the 1978 hit Kate Bush song.

Hundreds of dancers converged on St Peters and Woodford to celebrate Kate Bush's 1978 video for the song Wuthering Heights.

The four-and-a-half minute choreography included moves such as the zombie walk, the totally Kate Bush lateral kick, something called a 'Healthcliff-up-down' and a fancy arm flutter dubbed 'the pterodactyl'.

ACT public servant and belly dancer Brooke Thomas said Glebe Park was the perfect location and the overcast skies added all the more drama.

"The naked trees in the winter and that lovely crisp Canberra blue sky behind - it was just perfect," she said.

"Everyone had green eye shadow, that's a must. I was so impressed by the number of people that went to the trouble of getting wigs and roses in their hair."

And yes, social media went wild.

The event was also a fundraiser for Domestic Violence Crisis Service and, after all the dancing was done, organisers counted $1000 raised on the day and expected a similar amount from online donations.

Mr. Loaf was always one of the greatest "theatrical rockers."

And then the "Apprentice" took it all away. Sad.

Mr. Aday, even today, is the greatest of the bombastic, operatic, over-the-top rockers (although he owes a helluvalot to Jim Steinman, who wrote and arranged most of his biggest hits).  So WTF is "the Apprentice"?
