Another Good Netflix Original..."Godless"...

This is a seven episode western mini-series starring Michelle Dockery, ( the Aussie actress currently starring in TNT's Good Behavior) and Jeff Daniels (who turns in a fantastic performance as the prime villain, outlaw leader Frank Griffin)
The show also stars Jack O'Connell, ( a Brit actor who I was not familiar with) who also turns in a superb performance...
It's got an 8.5 IMDB rating:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5516154/plo ... tt_stry_pl
Here's a better plot synopsis then the one at IMDB:
The show has a huge cast with a lot of really well portrayed secondary characters, (like Sam Watterson as US Marshall John Cook and Tantoo Cardinal...who played Marilyn The Crow Medicine Woman on Longmire)
The dialogue is first rate, (especially a couple soliloquies delivered by Dockery and Daniels) and the cinematography is first class, outstanding...(many of the panoramic exterior shots are kick-ass gorgeous, and there's one scene in particular...when Griffin leads his 30 member gang on horseback fording a river...that's shot in an incredibly powerful way...)
The climactic gunfight scene in the final episode is brilliantly choreographed...
(I don't consider revealing the fact that this show has a Climactic Gunfight Scene to be a "spoiler"...if you weren't expecting a Climactic Gunfight Scene in a show like this, then you haven't seen many westerns...
)
Easily the best new western I've seen in a while...(I was very disappointed with the remake of The Magnificent Seven)
Four stars. Jim Bob says check it out...

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/godless/s01/Notorious criminal Frank Griffin (Jeff Daniels) and his gang of outlaws are on a mission of revenge against Roy Goode (Jack O'Connell), a son-like protégé who betrayed the brotherhood. While on the run, Roy seeks refuge with hardened widower Alice Fletcher (Michelle Dockery), an outcast herself, in a worn-down, isolated mining town of La Belle, NM -- governed mainly by women. When word reaches La Belle that Griffin is headed their way, the town bands together to defend against the murderous gang in a lawless western frontier.
