Just got done watching a movie about a man whose wife is murdered by a serial killer, and his only son is left physically disabled.
Later on, the son is kidnapped by someone who intends to put him on public display.
With the help of a mentally disturbed woman, the dad has to track and chase the kidnapper for thousands of miles in order to rescue his son.
I give it 4 stars out of 5. -"BB"-

Are we meant to guess the movie?

Sounds like one of those uplifting sentimental feel good movies that give you faith in humanity and encourage you to do good things like hunt down serial killers that have killed people's wives and maimed their sons.

A young woman suddenly appears in an idyllic town, killing the first person she encounters. She then teams up with three strangers to kill again.
--Plot summary, Wizard of Oz.

Bill--yours is kind of an online joke, I saw it on a site quite some time ago .
Sue--it took me a second, but I saw your footnote after I guessed it.
A young man goes and breaks into a rich man"s house, steals all his money and anything capable of being sold or producing income, and ultimately kills him when the big lug tries to get them back.

There's something fishy about the movie in the OP...
Big RR, yours sounds like Jack and The Beanstalk...

I didn't get Bill's movie from the OP (or even think about it, truth be told) until I saw Jim's clue. Now that I've got it, it's apparent that Joe got it, too. I forget the title, but I think it's something about Jules Verne locating the long-lost captain of the Nautilus...?

Was that Admiral Nelson? Or maybe, Peter Madsen?

What kind of dick takes a video of a starfish slowly asphyxiating/desiccating instead of picking it up and tossing it back into the surf?
This world is full of assholes - and they’re all of the species Homo sapiens.

BSG, I'm guessing that no one on the beach had something like a snow shovel to return this fish to it's proper habitat.
Like some snakes, some starfish are poisonous and even deadly to humans and those spines are the poisonous parts. The problem with me, as with most people, is how do you tell the harmless species from the poisonous ones? I only learned so much in Biology class. Why take the risk?
I'm glad you know the difference. Charles Darwin would be proud.

I often default to the theory that inherent in nature is a kind of common sense - most things that are very nasty and can kill you are also pretty hideous and scary-looking.
It would never occur to me to try to touch one of those pointy moherfuckers:
Certainly there are some lethal critters and plants that are sneakily harmless-looking - but again, there’s a certain common sense to it.
You’ll have to pardon my outrage but I’ve seen so much thoughtless and even intentional destructive behavior engaged in by ecotourists; many species of starfish begin to die immediately upon removal from the ocean, some can’t even last a minute before their insides explode to the outside. Yet douchbag humans MUST have their selfies and videos - fuck the starfish! Or the baby dolphin or the corals (which are so fun to TOUCH while snorkeling and scuba diving, who cares if the dive instructor told you that touching them KILLS them), etc. ad infinitum.
