The ORIGINAL "James Bond" theme
This song, called "Bad Sign, Good Sign", was written by Monty Norman and a fellow collaborator for a musical adaptation of V. S. Naipaul's 1961 novel, "A House for Mr. Biswas". The musical was never produced, but when 'Cubby' Broccoli tapped Norman to come up with a theme to use in "Dr. No", his first film adaptation of Ian Fleming's MI6 agent with a license to kill (bribing him with an offer of a free vacation to Jamaica, where the film was being shot), he recalled this bit of music, tweaked it a little so that it came out like this —
and cinematic espionage was forever changed.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
