Goodbye Pee Wee

Post by Big RR »

Paul Rubens (Pee Wee Herman) died Sunday after a long battle with cancer (something pretty much kept from the public). The man had his problems (from partly killing his career at its apex for exposing himself in and adult theater, to some sort of charge of obscenity charge for pornography) , but he somehow persevered. He was a true original in the comic area with his Pee Wee persona, and leaves behind some very entertaining movies and TV appearances. I haven't heard of him much recently, but I think the world is a bit sadder place without him. It's always sad when the funny man dies.

In the Small World department, I was surprised to learn that David Hasselhoff was his college roommate. They must have made quite a pair.

I didn't know that. Thanks.

Quite a pair is right.

They could have made quite a comedy team. Kinda like Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. They would have probably been very popular in Germany and France.
