Do you remember the TV series Wiseguy from the 1990s? I think it was in the second season, when the show revolved around two partners in crime, brother and sister Mel and Susan Profitt. Mel Profitt died, and Susan Profitt’s story became one of the most emotionally complex arcs I can remember. They loved each other to a level that wasn’t normal for siblings. They were codependent, almost like Siamese twins in spirit. In the end, Mel spiraled into drug addiction and died. When he did, Susan went to pieces, and their criminal empire collapsed. It was as if she couldn’t live without her brother. Can you remember another story with such a compelling twist from the past?
