You're saying that because she was right‑wing. When you assume “she deserved it because she was a right‑winger,” or whatever you're not evaluating her actions or character. You're dismissing an entire human being based on a category. That kind of thinking shuts down empathy, nuance, and any chance of understanding or peace, for that matter.

Any reasonable person would have to admit that she was one beautiful conservative. Dear Jane by comparison should change her name to Fido.

I am too, because we all die.

And I have no feeling of empathy because she lived a long and apparently rich life doing whatever she wanted to do, including abandoning her only child and saying utterly despicable things about her feelings for him (a tumor growing in her belly, etc.) in print for all the world to see - when he'd done nothing but exist, against her apparent wishes to get a third abortion to get rid of him altogether. She abandoned him to be raised by his father's parents. Fine, she wasn't cut out to be a mother - she might have kept her ugly mouth shut about it and not spent pages in her autobiography calling him a tumor, etc.

She wasn't a very nice person, which is probably why she revealed herself in later life to be a hateful immigrant hating bigot etc. I'm sure there are plenty of liberal women who are equally vile 'mothers' - Bardot just happens to have been right wing.

I'm sure Jesus will forgive her. Since I don't believe in heaven, I am under no such obligation.

I didn't say she "deserved" anything; she wasn't murdered, she lived a very long life and died past her statistical life expectancy, so if anything she got more lifetime than she was "due." But as to "evaluating her actions or character," see above.

I’m not trolling. I say what I think, and you assume it’s trolling, perhaps because you have thin skin made worse by an exaggerated ego.

Just because someone is pragmatic doesn’t make them a hater. After all, have you sold all your worldly possessions, given the proceeds to the poor, and chosen a life of poverty for yourself?

I’m not a wealthy person, but I’m able to do some good. I donate what I can to three charities: Wounded Warrior, St. Jude, and the ASPCA. What do you donate to?

Either of those is pathetic and disgusting. But not as disgusting as your bringing in charitable giving as some kind of excuse

I give to Wounded Warrior (and a similar charity in Britain) because although I disagree with many of the military adventures my taxes pay for (Suez, Vietnam, Grenada, the asinine interventions in DC, LA etc) I never blame the squaddies and the grunts who don't make the policies.
