This summer it is Pumped up Kicks by Foster the People. Maybe the most annoying song since The Night Chicago Died. Other songs that having you longing for an episode of Barney?

I used to love singing to 'The night Chicago died'!
.. and Billy Don't be a Hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
The 'B' side to one of those singles (can't remember which one) was a great song that I've never found since, and I've long since lost the single. It was called can you get it when you want it' and the chorus was something like: 'can you get it ... when you want it ... when you want it c an you put your finger on it ... and live your life away .... living on affection ... living on affection ... living on affection .... and lo-ove' :D I used to love the 'B' side even better than the 'A' side and never could work out why it stayed an unknown. Wish i could find it again!!

A sort of annoying song (but I actually like it 'cos it's sort of meant to be bad and it's funny) was Push the little Daisies by Ween. Annoying but fun and I love screeching along with the chorus.

But annoying in a I-want-to-rip-my-ears-off-whenever-I-hear-it way is Copperhead Road (Steve Earle)
I'm not against country and western - I'm actually extremely easy going when it comes to music and like a lot of country stuff. But that song makes me want to do violent things to the radio whenever it comes on the air.

The '80's Macarena was annoying as hell, 'cause of all the teenage, screechy banter and giggling sampled into it (I know guys with PTSD, who go into homicidal fits upon hearing that noise) but the original version wasn't that bad all.

I have had a song stuck in my head all day...but it's Piano Man, so that's not bad.

But I just realized two things about that song. One, the damned melody is, get this, adapted from a WALTZ (3/4 time), and two, most of the lyrics are written as...limericks.
