The list could be entitled 'songs we've all danced to at weddings' or 'every retro DJ's go-to list'.

It is though, a list of the ten songs that Rolling Stone readers voted the worst songs of the 1990s.

10. 4 Non Blondes, 'What's Up?'
9. Right Said Fred, 'I'm Too Sexy'
8. Baha Men, 'Who Let The Dogs Out?'
7. Celine Dion, 'My Heart Will Go On'
6. Hanson, 'MMMBop'
5. Chumbawamba, 'Tubthumping'
4. Vanilla Ice, 'Ice Ice Baby'
3. Billy Ray Cyrus, 'Achy Breaky Heart'
2. Los Del Rio, 'Macarena'
1. Aqua, 'Barbie Girl'

Other nominations welcomed.

I'm too sexy taken as intended is a hilarious song. Too many take it seriously tho.

They are not the worst songs (consider, for example, "Oops I Did It Again"), but on that list Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" is the absolute bottom, no contest. I have on occasion advocated military action against Canada in retaliation for, among other things, Celine Dion.

Some of those songs are parodies/piss-takes and IMO shouldn't be up there with the real dross:

Right Said Fred, 'I'm Too Sexy'
Chumbawamba, 'Tubthumping'
Aqua, 'Barbie Girl'

Have these people forgotten about the atrocities against music commited by 'artists' such as:

Take That - A Million Love Songs
Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up
Meatloaf - I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)
The Verve - The Drugs don't Work
D-ream – Things Can Only Get Better
Culture Beat - Mr Vain
Gina G - Ooh Aah Just A Little Bit
Bryan Adams - (Everything I Do) I Do It For You
Brian May - Driven By You
Spice Girls - Wannabe

I'd better stop there. I could go on for some time...

Hilarious video, too...the whole thing, I recall, as a parody of the fashion industry.

And hey Sean, piss off! Anything For Love is a great song (albeit a WEIRD & not-too-great video). :p

Celine, hands down open misere, wins.

I am actually quite fond of Right Said Fred and Chumbawumba. But then, as my husband will testify, I have no musical taste.

Chumbawumba does not hold up to the test of time

It does for me. (But my earlier comment still stands.)

Will you join me in urging our respective governments to place sanctions against Canada?

I would. But I haven't a leg to stand on. I don't have a musical gene in my body. My sanction could probably be easily thrown out!

Which explains how you can stomach Gobs "music".
