I've always been a great admirer of Lady Thatcher's, (who after Winston Churchill, was inarguably the next most important British Prime Minister of the 20th Century) and this looks like a well made, fair portrayal.

From the look of it this will be worth seeing for Meryl Streep's performance alone.

Yep it's on my must see" list too. I must restrain myself from throwing things at the screen though.

Remember it's Meryl up there, not Maggie the Hag!

Meryl looks too pretty to be Maggie.

In all seriousness, I won't be going to watch it. Anything that glorifies that fucking old hag wont be on my watch list.

I'm not sure I'll watch it specifically because it's Streep. Espescially with her comments on playing the part

That's the entire point - its an end of life movie. The lady has dementia, you know.

A friend of mine has some crystal glasses that were a gift (sort of) from Mrs. Thatcher.

He was a VP at a computer firm that was doing some work for the British government, and was at some breakfast meeting where he ended up getting seated beside her. He made an admiring comment about the water glasses, and she said, "Do you really like them? Let me wrap these up and I'll give them to you outside" and she wrapped a couple of them in napkins and put them in her purse. When she saw the stunned look on his face she said, "You don't imagine anyone is going to give ME any trouble about taking them, do you?"

Great story. I can just hear her saying that.

There have been a rash of movies lateley in which actors with British accents play Mericans and vice versa.

I've heard that although this movie has a '12' rating it's not suitable for miners...
