Everyone's a critic!

Post by Gob »

A 70-year-old man is alleged to have shot his son - because he didn't like his country music karaoke singing.

William Oller Sr told his son 'I'm going to shut you up' before getting a handgun from his truck car and shooting his son four times.

William Oller Jr was shot in shoulder, arm and chest and also sustained a head wound during the fight with his father outside their home in Redding California.

Police said the confrontation had been sparked when Oller Jr, 50, refused to turn off his karaoke singing machine.

Investigators did not reveal what specific song Oller Jr had been singing along with that caused the argument.

An arrest warrant revealed that Oller Sr told his son words to the effect 'I'm going to shut you up' before grabbing a semi automatic handgun.

When his son followed his father outside the pair grappled and he was shot multiple times.

Oller Sr was taken away in ambulance after opening fire on his son and getting shot in the leg himself

He told paramedics: 'I can't believe he shot me' as he waited to be transported to hospital.

Oller Jr was treated for non life threatening injuries at hospital from the .22 calibre bullets and is expected to make a full recovery.

His father appeared in Shasta County Superior Court on attempted murder and other charges and was remanded in custody in lieu of $500,000 bond.

Oller Jr's lawyer John Kucera said his client does not wish to see his father prosecuted.

(Wait, is "drunker" a word?)

Haven't heard from BobB lately, he "lived" in Redding.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

And as I recall, his posing style reflected the "local color," apparently.

However, If he was butchering (I'll give croaky some slack here, is that even possible....) "My achey breaky heart... ?

...The shooting was justified.

Yup... Just one critics opinion. :D

Mincing?
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Ha! You mean words Sean? Remember, the first rule of Thesaurus Club...

Ok fine. I thought that I made it fairly clear that achey breaky was a trite Hack job banking on the lowest common denominator. Along with about 90% of Country and or Western that is suppose to pass for music these days.

However, I will accept blended, folded, spindled and mutilated as agreeable synonyms. Or, sliced really bloody thin. :D

The key fact is omitted from the story.

What was he singing?

Surely, if it was "Stand by Your Man," the homicide was justified.

It would be fitting if he had been singing, "A Boy Named Sue."

Guns, likker, and country music! They go together like Jukes and Kallikaks, like Hatfields and McCoy's. Now that's the real AMERICA!
