What's new on my ipod!

Post by Gob »

A chance for us to share whatever audio titillation is tickling our ears on our mp3 player of choice, without disrupting the "Freecycle" thread..

I'm currently downloading "The Hound Of The Baskervilles."

Have just finished I, Partridge: We need to talk about Alan. Sheer brilliance but prepare for the looks you get when you suddenly burst into laughter in public...

Have you listened to Derek Jacobi reading Holmes Strop? His voice is perfect for it...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Cheers old son...

I deleted that "Hound" version. I know it was free, but having it read by... gasp..... a woman..... in a shock horror....broad American accent....didn't really cut the mustard for me.

Taking Sean's advice I "aquired" "The House of Silk," read by Derek Jacobi, the BBC "Book at Bedtime"version. One chapter lasts the length of my drive to (and from work,) utter perfection...
Derek Jacobi reads the new, page turning Sherlock Holmes mystery by best selling author Anthony Horowitz. It is the first such project to be endorsed by the Conan Doyle Estate.

Some hundred years after the death of Sherlock Holmes, a manuscript has been discovered in the vaults of Cox and Co in Charing Cross. It recounts the events of a 'missing' Sherlock Holmes case, a case written up by Dr Watson for the sake of completing the Holmes canon but considered by him to be too shocking to be published in his lifetime. Only now can the full story be told...

Can you share it via Dropbox?

Possibly, how does one do that?

You'd have to get a Dropbox account (free), then we can share purchased items with each other over the interwebs. I have some audio books you might be interested in, too.

eta: Just emailed you an invitation to Dropbox.

The biggest annoyance for me are those readers who can't decide and so alternate between "Lestraad" and "Lestrayed". :arg

Everyone knows it's the English pronunciation of "Lestrade", ie "Liz Troyd."

Actually thinking about it, the proper English pronunciation of "Lestrade" would be; "Felpersham."

Even better than an iPod is the Cloud. Sign up for it (I think it's $24.95/year) and your entire iTunes library is available on multiple devices. I have access to all of my music at work and via my iPhone (so I can run it through the car speakers) and at the Swede's place. I've pretty much relegated the iPod to workout use only.

I have an AM/FM radio in the kitchen that is on almost constantly.

I used to use it to catch up to News Hour when cooking. It is now on constantly when I am not watching Telly simply to allow Barnum to be able to orient himself by sound.

Unfortunately he is too dim to do that.
Bah!
