It's really tragic when good purple dinosaurs go bad.....

I'm amazed that HiT Entertainment hasn't had Youtube yank that for copyright infringement....

Well that was exceedingly unpleasant. I imagine that watching turds in a cess pit is about as intelligent. Oh wait.... that was....

Gen'l you have to understand, I am now on my second tour of Barney Duty, and I find the character incredibly insipid....

But for some reason, he has an almost cult-like attraction for small children...

So once again having to listen to that...that...voice everyday, (at least I haven't had to go out and buy too much new Barney crap since I had packed away a lot of it from my first tour)

I found that video to be a...well...sort of a release.... 8-)

So would this be a version of the Barney song you'd prefer to sing?

I hate you, you hate me
lets get together and kill barney
with a great big gun BOOM
shoot him in his head
aren't you glad that now he's dead

That video was hilarious. I never minded Barney himself so much, but those kids on the show drove me up the wall.

Ah well as long as it's funny it must be all right .......... and yet we wonder why so many kids show no respect for anything?

(I turned Smoochy off as well; waste of money and final confirmation that Robin Williams is a waste of space)

Gen'l loosen up a bit there...

What responsible parent would have a young child watch that?

when my kids were young the ditty was:

I hate you, you hate me
We're a disfunctional family
The gun goes off, the body hits the floor
No more purple dinosaur

That annoying voice Barney voice ("Superdee duper") runs through my head. I do recall taking my (fairly young) kids to see Jurassic Park to see what the "mean Barnies" do; my older daughter called rampaging dinosaurs (even Godzilla) mean barnies for years

But, on the other hand, as a doting father I donned a Barney suit for her second birthday party, so I guess i wasn't all bad

I hired one for Tati's third birthday party...(She now knows how I feel about good old Barn...so now she's on me to hire one for Jimmy's birthday in August....in fact she made a point of introducing him to that kiddie cult leader...she's definitely her mother's daughter... 8-) )

I tell ya, the strange hold this character has over small children is downright creepy...

It's like something out of a Steven King novel....

Blame Sandy Duncan and The Back Yard Gang.

2:42 should sound nauseatingly familiar;

Why? Does your missus make you dress up as Barney too?

Big RR, my heart melted a little to read that.

I find it noteworthy that you played Barney yourself, whilst LJ hired one. There's a deeper meaning in there correlating to political worldview, methinks. ;)

Er none I would hope LJ. The point is that if adults watch this kind of filthy trash and find it amusing, what moral soapbox do they stand on when teaching children as to how they should act, speak and relate to the world?

I'm not going to 'loosen up' my standards to the point of thinking that vile language and ideas are 'funny'.

Anyway, when my kids were growing up the popular school-kid ditty was

I love you
You love me
Homo - sex -uality

I don't know about that; it might just be that I'm cheap. :D

The young woman charged $125 and I gave her a $25 tip....(yes, our Barney was female...but she really had the voice down perfect...)

She did a great job with the kids, played some games and did a sing-along with them, also brought some party favors for them and hung around for more than an hour...we were at a barbeque area in a public park, so other kids from other groups started coming by, and she was great with them too...she obviously really liked kids...(her regular gig was as a kindergarten teacher )
