There’s an art to making a grumpy commuter stop, stare and smile.
And Zara Gaze, armed with little more than a shovel, a deft touch and a towering imagination, has mastered it.
The artist is behind a series of spectacular sculptures - or sandalism as it is known - popping up in piles of sand at building sites across London.
