I've got on the i-pod a 2 3/4 hour retrospective/ tribute to Spike Milligan. It's equally astonishing, sad, and insightful, as well as being a bloody hoot to listen to at times.
The connection between his manic-depressive/shell-shocked state and his creative genius is well explored.
Most refreshing Gob - thanks. Odd that he's so often identified as the nutcase when Peter Sellers (poor bugger) was definitely letting the cheese slip off his bread on a regular basis. Who'd have thought that Seagoon would have been the normal one?
