This is great and also (I think) very amusing: Beethoven's 5th, reduction for piano trio, with all-stars Manny Ax, Yo-Yo Ma and Leonidas Kavakos:

They've been doing a series of "Beethoven for Three" recordings that are really fun takes on works that are normally played by a 70 or 80-piece orchestra.
GAH!

Amazing yes. The guy cannot read. The message on the mirror says just opposite -- they are CLOSER than they appear. I have no idea what the actual title from Meatloaf is.

And objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are
And objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are
And objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are
And objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are

It's the chorus from Objects in the Rear View Mirror

Meatloaf weren't too bright on this point obvs.

Yes, but in the context of the song it makes sense.

He's talking about seeing people from his past.

If you're going to blame anyone for the lyrics, it isn't Meat Loaf.  The music and lyrics were composed and written by Jim Steinman, the guy who was responsible for many of the hits in Meat Loaf's repertoire.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

And (shame on me) there's nothing written on the rear-view mirror. That 'closer' thing is on the wing mirrors, you idiot Meade! :arg :beat

The only wing mirror I have seen in decades have been on trucks and school buses. I only see them on the outside of doors. I can rarely see the 'rear mirror' on other cars because the windows are so dark I cannot even tell if there really is someone behind the driver's wheel.

Never could figure out how the driver was supposed to use the 'wing mirrors' on a TR3 They were smaller than the diameter of an English muffin and so far away I would need binoculars to see anything in them. On the other hand, with the top down and one of those extra long rear mirrors from JC Whitney installed, the driver had NO blind spot and did not need mirrors on the side.

Yer all arses. True, the wing mirror is now positioned on the bloody door and of course they view the bloody rear but they are officially "side-view" bloody mirrors.

THE rear-view mirror is in the centre :fu of the interior above the windscreen :fu

Wouldn't a rear side-view mirror be located in the rear and give a view of the side?

And like many (even most) of Steinman's titles, it's a play on words. Steinman LOVED wordplay, and his titles and lyrics show it.
