For Meade...
Eivør performs her own ‘mjørkaflókar’ & ‘Bird on the wire’ by Leonard Cohen.

Not bad, Gob - not bad at all. I never quite get the point of listening to songs in a foreign language (no matter how beautiful they sound) because if I can't understand the story that the singer was compelled to create . . . seems I'm missing a lot? I exempt opera which is a lot to be missed.

Thank you

Nice. Ms Netrebko can't do much wrong as far as I am concerned.

The tag line of the video is a little misleading: she is not 'in' La Wally - she's doing the aria 'Ebben? Ne andro lontana' from the opera. I think it's one of those operas which is little performed but that aria is apart of most sopranos' repertoire.

Gotta go: more nits to pick elsewhere.

Seeing we're discussing strong, non-English, female vocals. The sounds and visuals of this vid cannot be denied. The feelings are palpable.

Hopelessness, despair, exaltation, all in a single movement.

Sorrowful song, Powerful voice.

Wow!! I didn't realise Beth Gibbons (Portishead,) had recorded this. Love her interpretation!!

Lederhosen Rock.

Original, with great production values. I'm going to check for more.

This is a real toe tapper but I like the Motörbrothers "Spade of Aces" much better. It's more of the traditional MoTown that I enjoy.

Wow! Hulk Hogan at his very best.

Do you remember the large format LaserDisc that EP was first recorded on?
