Music recommendations

Post by RayThom »

I feel strongly that the cello -- and its master -- are often the most intellectual performers in the entire symphony.

They talk, they sing, they analyze, they console, they make you think, and can make you weep.

C-G-D-A therapy.

That's a series of very basic ballet exercises. Do you know this young lady?

I think there were two different dancers throughout the video.

An oldie but goodie. Plaintive and haunting.

I'm going to miss Morricone when he's gone.

You don't need to understand Gaelic to appreciate this version of Toto's biggest hit song ....

Interesting fact — "Africa" was originally released in the fall of 1982, which makes it over 35 years old today.  By comparison, Bing Crosby's "Swinging on a Star" or the Andrews Sister's version of "Rum and Coca-Cola" were both less than 30 years old in my senior year of high school, and our men's glee club (yeah, they still called it that back then) wouldn't have been caught dead singing songs that ancient and un-hip.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Weezer just covered Africa - after a Twitter campaign urging them to do so.

The Gaelic one was sweet, but I'm still not sure why either was needed.

(I stopped listening to my pop/rock channel on Pandora because they kept trying to make me listen to Weezer. Sure, they've got a couple songs I like, and if they were the band playing at a house party I probably wouldn't leave. But I think it's time for them to retire.)
GAH!

That was terrific! Brings back very fond memories of the joys of participating in youth chorale and making beautiful music with other fresh faced, spirited youngins.
