Fave drug song?

Post by Gob »

I've just been loading some nostalgia onto the ipod, (thanks again BSG,) and came across this, it must rank as my favourite song about drugs....

What you get and what you see
Things that don't come easily
Feeling happy in my vein
Icicles are in my brain
(cocaine)

Something blowing in my hair
Winter's ice, it soon was dead
Death would freeze my very soul
Makes me happy, makes me cold

My eyes are blind, but I can see
The snowflakes glisten on the tree
The sun no longer sets me free
I feel there's no place freezing me

Let the winter sunshine on
Let me feel the frost of dawn
Fill my dreams with flakes of snow
Soon I'll feel the chilling go

Don't you think I know what I'm doing
Don't tell me that it's doing me wrong
You're the one who's really a loser
This is where I feel I belong

Crystal world with winter flowers
Turn my days to frozen hours
Lying snowblind in the sun
Will my ice age ever come?
Yours?
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”

Reminds me of a scene in "Mr Popper's Penguins"

Jim Carrie in his endeavours to sweet talk an old lady into selling her restaurant to his company asks her if she hasn't ever dreamed of retiring and taking life easy. Has she never

"pictured yourself in a boat? On a river. . . with tangerine trees and . . . marmalade skies?"

To which she replies:

"I don't do drugs"
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Now, if the question had been, "Fave song while on drugs"...

My answer would have been quite simple...

Just about anything by Pink Floyd.... 8-)

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

Posted another version of this in the "Sex and Drugs and Rock 'n Roll" thread....seems appropriate here as well....(I'm embarrassed to admit I saw this bunch live in the late 70's....don't remember a whole lot of it...)

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
