McDonald's customer caught drink-driving at drive-thru
A man who was refused service at a McDonald's drive-thru because he was on foot, returned in his car - and was caught drink driving.
Graham Read, 39, of Broughton, Flintshire, was returning home from a pub when staff refused to serve him.
When he "stupidly" returned in his car, he was stopped by police and was more than twice the drink-drive limit, Mold magistrates heard.
He was fined £100 with £100 costs, and banned from driving for 20 months.
Prosecutor Matthew Ellis told the court it happened in the early hours of 25 March when police spotted a Ford Mondeo pulling out of the McDonald's car park on the Broughton Retail Park.
Officers stopped Read - who admitted drink-driving - and his blood-alcohol reading was found to be 76 microgrammes, compared to the legal limit of 35.
