The Zarbis of Eddie Menoptera?

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
Re: Name That Movie!
Okay, let's try this:

If that doesn't do it, I suppose I could post the trailer..."Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven", is that it?
Why not? I'm here on the ground with my nose in it since the whole thing began. I've nurtured every sensation man's been inspired to have. I cared about what he wanted and I never judged him. Why? Because I never rejected him. In spite of all his imperfections, I'm a fan of man! I'm a humanist. Maybe the last humanist.
Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off! He's a tight-ass! He's a SADIST! He's an absentee landlord! Worship that? NEVER!

The Exorcist? (or one of its sequels)

Re: Name That Movie!
I guess that's a no.
Obviously quotes aren't doing it and you need to provide some other kind of clue.

Re: Name That Movie!
I thought maybe the main song from the film sound track would do it...
But apparently not...
Okay:

If somebody now guesses Ocean's 13, I may take a baseball bat to my computer monitor...

Constantine?

Although I don't think LJ would quote a KR movie.

I'd certainly like to think so Guin...the alternative is pretty sad...Guinevere wrote:I believe you may be being toyed with, L.J.......

I'm beginning to wonder how many people around here will even recognize the guy in the picture I just posted, let alone what the movie is...

BTW, I happen to like Keanu Reeves; I think he's a lot better than many people give him credit for....Although I don't think LJ would quote a KR movie.

Oh hell, The Devil's Advocate.
And no, Guin, I certainly wasn't. I might have seen it through like one and a half times, I pretty much remember the storyline but not the dialogue. That's why I asked LJ for a different type of clue.

Oh hell, The Devil's Advocate.

I can't hear Paint It Black without thinking of this flick...

We'll try to get a few more people back in the game:

Re: Name That Movie!
Of course, given the credit he gets, that's really not too hard. BTW, the only thing I recall liking him in was A Walk in the Clouds. It was a rather wooden lead role (any real emoting would have made it seem like satire a la Faye Dunaway playing Joan Crawford), but his style suited it perfectly and played well against the other actors, including Anthony Quinn and Giancarlo Giannini in over the top performances.BTW, I happen to like Keanu Reeves; I think he's a lot better than many people give him credit for....
Re: Name That Movie!
Given that everyone has their own tastes, and Keanu does have a limited range (not unlike a lot of more respected actors), but Bill and Ted, Speed, Point Break, Matrix series, Scanner Darkly, and probably others I haven't seen (because it is clear by now that I have not seen a LOT of movies) were all perfect vehicles for him. And they all did exceptionally well at the box office and few were even considered good movies by critics.Big RR wrote:Of course, given the credit he gets, that's really not too hard. Sorry, but not even close.

To be fair, in case people were misled, the film does not take place in Asia.

Re: Name That Movie!
LR--I forgot about Bill and Ted, and while it was not a favorite of mine, he was good in the part. I liked Point Break, but honestly did not remember him in it (still don't). I wasn't able to sit through any of the Matric movies not my cup of tea) and don't recall seeing the Scanner Darkly film, so I can't comment. But you are right, while he does have a limited range, he can do well in the right role (like the A Walk in the Clouds role I mentioned). Another actor like that 9to me at least) is Nicholas Cage (one of my wife's favorite actors, so I've seen a number of his films)--I liked him in a few movies ((especially leaving Las Vegas where he won the best actor award), but mostly I think he just walks and mumbles his way through roles.Long Run wrote:Given that everyone has their own tastes, and Keanu does have a limited range (not unlike a lot of more respected actors), but Bill and Ted, Speed, Point Break, Matrix series, Scanner Darkly, and probably others I haven't seen (because it is clear by now that I have not seen a LOT of movies) were all perfect vehicles for him. Re: Name That Movie!
Scooter--I think that's the only line I recall from that film.
