Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

All part of the strategy - lull 'em to complacency
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Okay then...
A fair price. That's not what you say it is, and it's not what I say it is... It's what the market will bear. Now there's people - and I know 'em - who'll pay a lot more than $25,000 for a healthy baby. Why, I myself fetched $30,000 on the black market. And that was in 1954 dollars.

I am claiming this one because I know I am right and I don't feel like marking time for a day waiting for the sun to come up on the other side of the world.

This choice was inspired by the last one:
(speaking about the Devil) He will be attractive! He'll be nice and helpful. He'll get a job where he influences a great God-fearing nation. He'll never do an evil thing! He'll never deliberately hurt a living thing... he will just bit by little bit lower our standards where they are important. Just a tiny little bit. Just coax along flash over substance. Just a tiny little bit. And he'll talk about all of us really being salesmen. And he'll get all the great women.

Sean posted a quote at 7:05 AM by the board's clock; you posted an answer about twenty minutes later by that same clock.  You then waited barely 2½ hours before saying you weren't going to wait for sunrise on the other side of the world before you'd throw out the next quote.

2½ hours?  Really?  I had a doctor's appointment this AM, and between eating breakfast, driving to the clinic, the actual appointment, and then getting back home I burned close to three hours, three hours where I was away from the laptop.  And if I had posted the quote I know I'd be a little ticked off because someone posted an answer, then said "I know I'm right so I'm gonna go ahead rather than wait" just because I'm not 'Johnny-on-the-spot' on this board monitoring my posts 24/7 so I can provide immediate confirmation and gratification for you or your ilk.

This ain't a race; it isn't that important if you have to wait until this evening to throw the next quote out there.

Bill, you may not know this, (because I don't think he's posted here much since you joined the board) but Sean lives in Australia...

So when Scooter says "sunrise on the other side of the world" he's not being a smart ass; he means it literally...

Bill, the time Sean posted suggested it was sometime shortly before he went to sleep. He may or may not check in again when he wakes up; he might in fact go to work and not look in here again until he gets home, or after he has dinner. Or, given the fact that it had been months since he had been seen here, he might not have even realized that he was expected to confirm the answer and might not pop in again for several days. So yes, I chose not to lose what was probably going to be the better part of a day before posting a clue, because there will be stuff over the weekend that will be taking me away from my computer as well and I did not want to leave people hanging for long stretches of time waiting for me to respond to their guesses. I did so only because I was absolutely certain of the answer and would not have otherwise.

Does that satisfy Your Majesty, or do you feel a need to display your self-righteous priggishness further, because Dog knows I live for the pleasure of reading your churlish outbursts.

Ray, sorry that is incorrect.

Since I'm the guy who started the thread and outlined the 'rules' in the initial post, who better to speak up than myself?

That's actually not a bad guess Ray...

It does kind of sound like something that Dennis Hopper's character might have said...

And that rule had already been bent a couple of times in the past (for similar reasons) and you didn't have word fucking one to say about it.

So go give that barbed stick jammed ever so firmly up your ass another quarter turn.

The movie was nothing like Apocalypse Now.

It does share an actor with the film Sean posted.

I know the movie it's from...

I just thought that the quote sounded like something Hopper's character might have said.

Or something about Col. Kurtz. The movie is not anything like Apocalypse, but I could have seen a quote like the one posted in the movie; at least the part before the last two sentences.

No.

Apparently Plan B's own Siskel & Ebert have figured it out, so I should think of another quote that will give some others a fighting chance:
A. -- Here's a good one. They allow us to have cameras at an execution in Florida. Do you broadcast tape of the guy in the chair when they turn on the voltage?

M. -- Sure.

J. -- Why not?

E. -- Absolutely.

G. -- You bet.

A. -- Nothing like wrestling with a moral dilemma, is there?
