The Festival

Every September thousands of Elvis fans descend on the Welsh seaside town of Porthcawl for a unique celebration of The King.

The feature events are the Official Shows taking place in the magnificent Grand Pavilion. These include The Elvies, the World's leading award Show for Elvis Tribute Artists

In addition, The Hi Tide host over 100 shows over the weekend, many with free admission.

Finally, over twenty venues in and around the Town form the Fringe Festival, making Porthcawl the largest Elvis event in Europe.

We hope to see you there!

Is it a bird? Is it a plan? No, it's 867 people dressed as Superman.

Fans came together to smash the world record for the most people dressed as the comic book hero in one place.

Around 1,200 people wore Superman costume's to the Kendal Calling festival in the Lake District, but only 867 were present for the Guinness World Record official count.

However, the result soundly beat the previous record of 556 people.

More than a hundred people called David have gathered in Aberdeen city centre to sing a traditional Christmas carol.

Organisers of the event, which coincides with the switching on of the city's lights, said they believe it sets a new record.

They hope the 121 participants will be the largest number of "Davids" to sing "Once in Royal David's city".

The record attempt, part of Aberdeen's Winter Festival, has yet to be officially verified.

Chief executive of Visit Aberdeen Steve Harris said he was thrilled with the response and described the atmosphere as "brilliant".

He said he is considering asking people named "Holly" or "Ivy" to try a similar record attempt next year, singing the carol "The Holly and the Ivy".

Bit of a double, that! Largest number of Davids to sing the carol AND the largest number of Herberts.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Hundreds of "elves" who gathered in a West Sussex town centre believe they have broken a world record.

Organiser Robert Luff said 1,276 were counted in Worthing earlier which, if confirmed, will beat the record by more than 500.

The last record was set in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, last year when a crowd of 762 elves got together.

Money was being raised at the Worthing event for charities St Barnabas Hospice and Chestnut Tree Children's Centre.

Local firms donated elf hats and ears to people who registered for the gathering in Steyne Gardens.

The rules stated that all people attending had to wear red or green tops.

Guinness World Records has confirmed the current record stands at 76
