Clue:  Although the star of this film has won the Triple Crown of Acting (an Oscar, a Tony, and an Emmy) for Best Actress during her career, she does not — at least, not yet — have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
(But Donald Trump, Judge Judy, and Woody Woodpecker do..... go figure)

Well, I won't speak about the other two, but I think when one looks at the long expanse of his career and the volume and quality of his work, Mr. Pecker was certainly deserving of the honor...

Like many other actors, much of his best work was done early in his career, but that shouldn't be held against him in terms of receiving due recognition for his achievements in his craft...

Trump. Judge Judy? I didn't realize they were still putting stars on the "Walk" (I thought it stopped long ago), but given a chance to be immortalized alongside these two, I'd choose no. Does OJ have a star? Cosby?

Cosby does, recognizing his work in television; OJ doesn't.  Not that I'm a big fan of Hollywood celebs; it's just that I got lost in the list after reading an article about how people are showing their displeasure of Dumb'old Trump through graffiti and other forms of expressing their disapproval (think 'letting Fido leave a token of his esteem', for example) and making calls for the star to be removed... something that has never happened in the history of the Walk of Fame, according to the organization behind it, citing both The Cos as well as Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle as people whose stars remain in place no matter how dark, vile, or controversial the rest of their lives might have become.

Incidentally, there is one person who has FIVE separate stars on the Walk of Fame, recognizing him for his excellence/accomplishments/achievements in five different fields ... and it's not any of the usual suspects.  Care to try to guess whoizzit?

And Ray, you're still way off.... and it ain't "Good Will Hunting", "Up The Down Staircase", or "To Sir With Love" either.

I read that a while back, and it is not anyone I would have thought of.

I also recall that Charlie Chaplin wa ssupposed to have a stat in the 40s/50s, but it was rescinded (most people say due to his political leanings, but he also was accused of something with a minor girl (and I think he was exonerated)), and then he received it after he got an honorary Oscar in the 70s.

I'm betting Jim's right.

While I think Maggie Smith was great in it, the performance I was most impressed by in this film was Pamela Franklin's, but for some reason she never caught on as a Hollywood actress afterwards and was relegated to some pretty poor horror films (sad because the first thing I saw her in was a great horror film, The innocents.

It's a great book, from which I recognized the first quote immediately - but was not allowed to play.

I've never seen the movie, I will try to find it streaming somewhere for free - or maybe via the library.
