Name That Movie!
Re: Name That Movie!
No to MGM, if that needs to be said.
PLEASE... Name That Movie!
Yes, I'd like that. Just when I feel I've nailed it I get overwhelmed by more disappointment.Lord Jim wrote:It may be time for another quote and or clue...
OK, let 'er rip... I'm ready.

“In a world whose absurdity appears to be so impenetrable, we simply must reach a greater degree of understanding among us, a greater sincerity.”
Re: Name That Movie!
I'll wait until Monday if no one gets it.
FWIW, I would have thought this would be an easy one--a pretty big hit that still plays a lot on cable and commercial TV.

Another quote
Many consider this one of the defining movies of the mid to late baby boom generation. You're the most beautiful, exciting thing I've ever seen in my life and I don't know anything about you.
PLEASE... Name That Movie!
That quote sounds vaguely familiar.

Re: Name That Movie!
I'm shocked, RT. That is a good guess, same type of movie, but not right. Off by half a generation.
Your guess reminds me of a holiday some years ago, with family, where we were playing a new-type of game where the DVD shows a clip or picture and the game players guess the movie. The famous boom box held up was shown and I named the movie, repeatedly, but my sister thought I was just saying anything.

Name That Movie!
"Where were you in '62?"
I remember it well. I was "grounded" for a year by my father because I was caught hanging with friends whose parents he didn't like. Two weeks prior to my parole date (Dec. 5, 1962) the deluded Dark Overlord said I had served my time and he expected me to be grateful for the reprieve.
Fucking idiot!

I resemble that last remark.

Re: Name That Movie!
One of the actors who was in "American Graffiti" was also in this one.
S: You know when I saw 'Bonanza' the other day, something occurred to me.
E: Eh?
S: Ya got these four guys living on the Ponderosa and ya never hear them say anything about wanting to get laid.
E: Huh.
S: I mean ya never hear Hoss say to Little Joe, "I had such a hard-on when I woke up this morning."
E: No, no, no...
S: They don't talk about broads - nothing. Ya never hear Little Joe say, "Hey, Hoss, I went to Virginia City and I saw a girl with the greatest ass I've ever seen in my life." They just walk around the Ponderosa: "Yes, Pa, where's Little Joe?" Nothin' about broads. I don't think I'm being too picky. But, if at least once, they talked about getting horny. I don't care if you live on the Ponderosa or right here in Baltimore, guys talk about getting laid. I'm beginning to think that show doesn't have too much realism.

Don't know the movie but for this:
I think one or two of the sons wives/girl friends met a similar fate IIRC.

Here's a tagline from the movie:

I don't believe I've seen this movie, but it sounds like one I would like...

Well, since it's been a while, I think it is Tin Men

Re: Name That Movie!
OK, hopefully and easier one, and having an actor in common to with Tin Men:
Oh, this... this is my favorite one. "How do you know what key a concerto is in?" Mr. Mims, your answer was "Look on the front page", question mark. Now, this question mark. Was that because you weren't sure or because your English skills are on the same level as your musical theory?

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
