Or "Fishtar", better known as Kevin Costner's "Waterworld"?
I liked Waterworld....
And Showgirls.
but not for the same reason.
Have no clue about what movie is being quoted.

It is actually an homage to a "genre" (I don't know if that's the proper term) you're quite fond of.
I went ahead and looked it up and then checked out some clips from the movie on Youtube...
And you're right...
I'd never heard of this flick before, but now I'm going to make a point of seeing it...

Yeah I just need to think up another
Another clue in case someone can figure it out until then:
The movie is an homage to/inspired by "A Night at the Opera"
It also has Tony Sopranos mom in a supporting role

I won't get it, it's one of the few that stumped me, and I had to google it to find out. I recall the movie, but never saw it.

A: You notice he's bigger than you?
H: Yes.
A: And younger.
H: Yes.

Pick me, pick me
I know this one.
The 13th Warrior.
Love Norseman movies/shows (I liked it, but it most others didn't if you go by the box office returns.).

Sounds like some sort of gladiator movie. I don't watch those.
"John Carter"?

Somewhere (I forget where) I recently read a piece by somebody (I forget who—it might've been Jim Wright?) who praised The 13th Warrior and said it was one of his all-time favorite movies. Apparently it's based on the novel Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton (which itself is a loose retelling of "Beowulf"), a peculiar little book which I read and enjoyed. I've really got to watch it some time.
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.
