Some men get the world. Others get ex-hookers and a trip to Arizona
Is it the Bill Clinton story?

I liked that movie as well, BSG. Well worth a watch for anyone who hasn't seen it
OK, changing gears a bit:
I looked and looked at her, and I knew, as clearly as I know that I will die, that I loved her more than anything I had ever seen or imagined on earth. She was only the dead-leaf echo of the nymphet from long ago - but I loved her, pale and polluted and big with another man's child. She could fade and wither - I didn't care. I would still go mad with tenderness at the mere sight of her face.
and a second:
The shock of her death froze something in me. The child I loved was gone, but I kept looking for her - long after I had left my own childhood behind. The poison was in the wound, you see. And the wound wouldn't heal.
The child I loved was gone, but I kept looking for her - long after I had left my own childhood behind
Obvious. Aside from a Trump tweet, it must be:

Right title, definitely, but I'm going to guess it's from Adrian Lyne's 1997 remake, which starred Jeremy Irons and Dominique Swain (and which was much more faithful to Nabokov's original novel, including many long voiceover passages by Humbert taken directly from the novel.)

Econo is correct on the date. But that also means the quote comes only from that version. Ergo, my answer is not correct.

Character 1: Memory thread one. Listen to the following passage. "Lilly awoke in an evening dress and opera cloak. In her hand were five playing cards."
Character 2: Is this a joke?
